Dated this girl for several years. Without previously being exposed to TRP, I actually handled most of the relationship in a red pill way, and she was obsessed with me.

...Until I hit some roadblocks in my professional life. I went to her for emotional support. Over a month or two, she completely changed how interested she was in me. I broke down several times trying to salvage the failing relationship, but she eventually deleted all our pictures on social media, blocked me, and dumped me because she "wanted to be single and needed to forget me". Within a month, she was with someone new.

I realized how pathetic I acted. I forgot her pretty quickly as I worked on and overcame my personal issues. Dated a few girls here and there, but nothing serious. I haven't talked to or even seen my ex over all this time. Because we're blocked on social media and I never talk about her with anyone, I literally had no knowledge of her existence.

Now over three years later, she adds me on instagram of all things. I reluctantly accepted it, but didn't add her back at first. Then she started "liking" some of my pictures (although not any pics of me, just random stuff). For whatever reason, I added her back. After several weeks, nothing changed. She hasn't tried to talk to me, but randomly will like my pictures.

So any ideas on her motivation for suddenly doing this? I might be able to come up with a better idea if hadn't been over three years later. Nothing made sense to me. I checked other social media to see I'm still blocked on those. Which is not something she'd "forget" is there.

I spoke with a female friend about it. She basically said my ex is toying with me. It doesn't matter what she wants (to be friends, another relationship, or nothing at all still), she primarily wants the satisfaction of knowing I haven't forgotten about her. Which is the reason for subtly adding me and "liking" random pics, while never saying a word or allowing additional contact. I got mad because if that's true, my ex "won". Again.

I decided to block her immediately. A few male friends that encouraged a friendship or more with her thought I was stupid. They even said she probably wouldn't notice. The female friend said she would definitely notice. They had me check the next day, I unblocked her only to see I was now blocked back. Female friend was right. She noticed right away.

A few months have passed and I haven't really heard from her since. The female friend thinks she'll somehow try to get my attention again later. She was already right about at least one thing, so I decided to come here to ask what I should do if this is to happen again.
