I've started reading the sidebar material. Just finished MMSL and currently on NMMNG.

My Dad who is 73 years old and has been married for 29 years is the definition of a nice guy according to Dr. Glover. I've considered giving him the book as a gift along with audio book. But I'm not sure if I should. (Main question the rest is just context.)

I grew up seeing this man who was a former us navy seal attempt to appease everyone and just like in no more Mr. Nice guy you end up appeasing no one. I just finally hit a point in my life that I do not want to wake up in 45 years a carbon copy of who he is now. Not trying to go for Rambo but I'm definitely trying to get my shit together in a 9 year relationship and almost 5 years of marriage with a 3 week old baby.

For context I was talking to him today he says, "I just try to appease your mom and I'm just so tired." He is overweight with a laundry list of medical problems and chronic pain. That was really hard to hear since I used to be terrified of my dad.

I'm sure there are more examples but I'm about to walk into Work and can't think of any other examples off the top of my head.
