Solid Post, I like the 'final' quote:

"A man who pursues a dominant position in his own home realizes that his wife's resume becomes immaterial the moment she walks through the door, and that his relationship with her is not based on any other title than "wife". *"

I describe my relationship with my wife as a ying yang. Her feminine nature and my Masculine one.

Too often people are always together and they take on the opposite sexes personality traits and behavior. This is why it is so important that each individual has their own thing (hobby, friends, things they do).

When you make your wife your mission that lines straightens out. When it's vertical, you've got the 'equal partnership' which everyone knows (or should know) is disaster for any relationship.

That line straightens out every time you say I don't know when she asks you a questions or when you say It doesn't matter when she wants your opinion.

You have to lead. You have to be a confident dominant (not domineering) force in her life and that of your children as well if you have them.

It's interesting, in that I have two examples in my life that resonate with me every time I think about this, praxeology. Early in my career I worked in a plant in the deep south. In the area I worked it was a unique blend of highly STEM people and blue collar support staff. One woman in particular was happy, outspoken and on the weekend she was an AME minister. Two of the chemists (female) were having a discussion about the problems with men. The married one was fighting with her husband. The minister woman looked at her and said "Girl! Aint no use fighten wif your man. You suck his dick? Cause if you don't some other woman will. You take care of yo man in the bedroom and he will take care of you foevah. You taken care of bidness?"

She sheepishly answered no.

The minister woman looks her straight in the eye and says "Mmmm hmmm. Thought so. White women."

It was enthralling to watch. But even then I understood what she was saying. Men will put up with all manner of crap if you just catered to their most basic need. And judging by her dishes from the occasional pot luck she was a fantastic cook, so she had all the bases covered.

Second, my own cousin. A card carrying, Obama loving, self proclaimed feminist of the highest caliber has one of the best marriages I've seen in my family. She once told me that my mother taught me how to be part of the male patriarchy that keeps women below the glass ceiling, cue Monty Python "Help, help I'm being repressed!". Despite all of this, the moment she comes home from work, she is a ideal red pill woman. She supports her man and his hobbies, she cooks like nobody's business, and lord knows I've heard stories about how she takes care in the bedroom.

As an engineer I find Redpill particularly resonates well with me because in my career it's been a whole lot of "Who fucking cares why it works but it does." I can site a million examples where the more scientific people were going on and on about what could be where I was doing instead.

So here's two complete opposite examples, they espouse completely different ideologies, yet their actions are the same. The result is two good marriages.

This one for me was another homerun.

My wife is aware of my post history, and vaguely aware of something called the red pill. I find myself wanting her to read this particular blog post. On the other hand I'm not sure that she knows that she is acting submissively towards me and making her aware of this might make her want to "rebel." The saving grace here is that there are inputs from two different women in that article. What do you think? After 6 months of red pill is it way too early? Should I not poke the sleeping lion...ess?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Let me help you. No.

Guess, I'll just keep it in my back pocket for the next time she reads my post history. If she starts looking for what is The Red Pill, reads some feminist propaganda I'll come back with that blog post, our life since I discovered TRP and rub it in her face. Our life has been so good since discovering this sub that I'm just giddy to share in the goodness sometimes.

I've never mentioned this to anyone IRL so far and plan to keep it that way. At least plan to keep it for at least another 12-15 years or so, until my son is old enough to start pedestalizing middle school / high school girls. Then it will be time for some tough love education.

You do you.

I read that article and copy and pasted the response of 'Mrs. Ironwood' I sent that email along with a brief introduction of how I thought it related to my wife and a few of her friends.

My wife's response was (paraphrasing) I totally get what she is saying and I feel that way as well inside. I laugh at all who aren't! It led to us discussing even further how she feels more 'open & free' as a woman where she used to feel insecure or embarrassed (to admit she was submissive) as society made that a 'bad' thing.

We also talked about how she saw the shitty relationships and how her friends would complain about the most stupid and mundane things regarding their marriage. She knows the problem is the 'men' aren't leading and the women aren't following. "The marriage is jacked up because they won't fill their roles."(Actual quote)

The point of this response is while I don't 'discuss' MRP/TRP as my wife doesn't need to know that I'm gaming her, using kino/dread/feeding her hamster, etc. I do, like this instance, talk about the sociology behind marriage and the Masculine/Feminine roles.

To be clear, I believe all she needs to know is that she's happy and it's because of me. But, in regards to your question of whether you should share, I did and it led to a solid conversation that helped me understand my wife's views and let her in on a little piece of my world.

If you think it is poking the lioness then don't do it. If you think your wife would like to discuss the topic, go for it. Maybe she'll impress you with her take on it, mine did.

I just wanted to chime in here and mention that this is a very caveat heavy subject. I just had one of those "heavy conversations" with my LTR of 4 years yesterday, the explicit subject being that she is "uncomfortable" with our "arrangement" and me being "Captain". This is coming from a 22yr old woman who is very very new to TRP ideas, I've vaguely shared some snippets of TRP here and there over at least a year, and she's overall hostile to them with lots of feminist indoctrination.

After remaining stoic and just listening for the better part of half an hour to her grievances, talking in circles, not really making any points, nodding sincerely and looking interested - she finally ADMITTED out loud, that she's not even sure why she "disagrees" with this "model" of leadership. She is the type of woman who analyzes her own thoughts by verbalizing them, IE; she doesn't know what the hell she's saying until she's said it or is saying it. "Why do you make all the big decisions, I feel like I'm following your script in this relationship?" - I didn't even really answer this one, I basically said "yeah sure, you don't realize how much influence you hold then."

Us men are called to be more mindful of what we're saying, we say all the freaking time in TRP to be very careful with your words, and that's another topic. Anyway, in the end of our "serious discussion" regarding TRP concepts and leadership in our relationship, she finally admitted to me word for word "I'm not sure why I'm so against the idea of you getting to make all the decisions...I guess it's because I thought at first because you're a man, I was against it."

And then I FINISHED the sentence for her "No, I assume positions of leadership because I'm 5 years older than you, I have more life experience, I'm far more the rational one a hundred times over, so therefore it naturally falls on me to BE the Captain in this relationship. NOT just because I'm a man."

She fell silent for a minute and then found herself completely agreeing with me.

To the guy who's thinking about "spilling TRP" with the wife, I'd caution if you're DEAD SURE you're ready to, do it very gradually, over a long period of time. And even then, only with good reason.

TLDR: the vast majority of the time, don't talk TRP to her, agreed 100%. If and only if, you can share a gem of it here and there, go gradually. Especially in the case of feminist indoctrination, as I've been breaking through.

TLDR 2: Don't ever talk about how you're "gaming" her, talking about the big picture is alright, with lots of breaking in.

The first rule of fight club...

Although I have long advocated telling your wife about the Captain /FO concept if your wife might be receptive. Most of them like it because it takes the pressure off of her and because it is the Captain who goes down with the ship.

Wait for her to initiate the conversation about it. Then offer to send her something. If you bring it up without reason, you're dragging, not leading.
