Today was a weird one. My wife was talking to me and got upset because I changed the subject as soon as she was done. So before she left for work, she confronted me on it and come to find out, she's sad because she has no friends to talk to.

Now, back before I started this journey, I was one of her girlfriends in that I would engage her when she was venting about all the shit that she deals with. Now, I've knocked that off and she has mentioned that she noticed the change, but didn't have anything negative to say about it, until today.

She said she's lonely, has no one to talk to and now she can't talk to me because I cut her off or change the subject or give her a sarcastic/playful answers that don't add to the conversation.

I'm pretty sure I fucked this one up because I told her that I wasn't going to be an echo chamber for her so I won't just sit and nod my head and agree with her when she's talking about something that I don't agree with (She's working towards her Master degree and we have always had in depth, intellectual conversations.)

She left for work crying, she said again that she's lonely and doesn't have any friends and now she can't talk to me.

This is the first real confrontation we've had since the beginning of december, which is when I started this RP journey.

And I know, there's a lot of "she" in here, and I'm supposed to be focusing on myself and not her, but up until this point, focusing on myself has been a huge positive in the marriage, so I'm a bit confused as to how to handle it.

Let me know how I failed this one.
