Why do we loose attraction?

My habits got poorer and poorer, I cleaned my place less and went to the gym less, where I used to keep my place minimalistic and worked out every day.

I didn't gain weight, but I definitely lost muscle mass and stopped working on myself. I was content and stupid. Sex had been slowly getting more and more periodic.

He had his shit together when he met her, and she was attracted to that, then he got comfortable and let his shit go. She was not attracted to that. He was on his best behavior attracting her and then decided that attracting her for the first six months was all he needed to do for the relationship to continue for the rest of time. Basically, he gave up after six months.

It's like with women, you can't pretty up your personality, home, face, and body to go out and get a man and then go straight back to being a shrew, living in a pigsty, and letting your appearance go.

I imagine that his girlfriend was a similar SMV to his when they met, and then over the course of a year or so his SMV dropped a few points while hers stayed the same. Suddenly she was living with a guy who turned into a couch potato.

This post wasn't about the differences in men and women, the roles are easily switched here; it is simple to see that the same thing would have happened if this was a woman writing about her boyfriend dumping her after she got lazy and complacent once commitment was obtained. It's a bait and switch situation: portraying what you are getting in a great light and then when you get it, it is a shoddy representation of what you ordered.

Almost two years is still a very short relationship (compare two years to the rest of your life - 2 years vs. say 60 or 70 years - to see the stark difference), they weren't married, and they didn't have kids. There was no tie to bind them except sharing a living space.

edit: Ok this is really bad, I had no idea TRP was so bigoted and awful about mental illness.
