EDIT: Thanks to the person who figured out how to add flair. EDIT2: I am a woman, and my partner is a woman-- sorry it wasn't clear in the original post.

I'm looking for homemaking advice and am not sure where else to get it. I'm supposed to use the Ask RPW flair but can't figure out how to assign it.

My partner and I have been together for a little under a year and are marriage minded. We're signing a lease together at the end of the summer. I've been more or less living with her full time since January.

We both have careers, but my career offers a better work-life balance. I love to cook and am all around more domestic. She doesn't, so the homemaking role falls comfortably in my corner both logistically and otherwise. We have talked about this arrangement and it works for both of us.

She will be in a career transition this summer and has set a goal of eating better and getting into healthy routines while simultaneously streamlining our food budget to get a sense of what to expect (and set good habits) for the fall when she starts at a new position.

I usually make general food plans for the week and pack her lunches and breakfasts ahead of time. She's very picky but will eat the same thing over and over again, so I consult her as to what she wants for lunches, dinners, and breakfasts each week then plan accordingly.

She recently expressed to me that she doesn't want to think about food anymore and said that she would prefer if I just made the choices for her. She also wants to get into batch prepping healthy breakfasts and lunches for work to discourage our habit of eating out.

Here's where I need help. I'm terrible at making decisions for other people-- what if she doesn't feel like eating what I've picked for the week? How can I better prepare a weekly meal plan for us both and be better about sticking to it-- from planning to shopping to cooking, packing, and eating? How do I feel more comfortable in the role of executive kitchen decision maker? How do I plan ahead for the inevitable night where we both just want brownies?

Another significant thing to note is that she and I end up eating completely separate foods at mealtime. I have several dietary restrictions and she's very picky. So between the two of us, eating a healthy balanced diet takes a lot of prep and planning because I end up making separate meals for both of us :-)

I want to do this for both of our budgets and health--and also because I love knowing that I've fed her well and made her day just a little bit easier--but I would love some advice in stepping up my game.
