pretty sure that would not be the thing that her dad did wrong. more than likely it was pimping her out to disney studio execs since she was a kid that messed her up. but i think any actions after a reasonable time being an adult changes from she had a bad childhood to she messed up her own life. She knows she has issues but she also puts herself in positions where those issues become problems

Lots of things happen in your childhood that end up guiding who you end up becoming as an adult.

However, adults have the power to change the direction of their lives, break out of habits and become something else entirely.

Using whatever happened in your childhood as an excuse for why you're a shitty person is no excuse at all. Blaming it on someone else when you're an adult who is capable of directing your own life means you're still a shitty person.
