I keep seeing this advice in TRP saying you should be emotionally interested in people in order to have good conversations and relationships, but I think 90% of my social skills issues come from simply not being able to do that.
I can talk to people and even have fun, but these are never deep relationships because my interactions come purely from a place of non-emotiveness, and people seem to perceive that subconsciously. I talk to someone not because i'm interested in them, but because of some logical ulterior motive like to not be alone.
It's like when you say "good morning" to the cashier at the store, you don't care if this person has a good morning or not, but you say it because it's a social convention. That's how I see every interaction, and it's ruining me. Is it possible to fix this?
