"Why I can’t stop reading Mormon housewife blogs" -- I'm a young, feminist atheist who can't bake a cupcake. Why am I addicted to the shiny, happy lives of these women?

I wouldn't be so quick to wave the Mormon housewife flag personally. There are some things these ladies do well as a culture, but as someone who used to be one I have to say that the shiny, Unfeminist Mormon housewives are largely a facade.

Mormon women (specifically Utah LDS girls) are some of the most childish, passive-aggressive people I've ever come across. Despite popping out kids like they pop antidepressants, they are also incredibly sexually frigid. They may bake like fiends and decorate like a desperate housewife, but they are nothing more than varsity-level hamsters.

And oh god, the level of credit card debt these women get their husbands into. There's a reason why they all look wealthy on their blogs. Most of them get sucked into some ridiculous MLM business too. Just because your husband is a dentist or a lawyer doesn't mean you can spend like Jesus is coming back tomorrow.

I hate, hate, hate Mormon women. And Mormon men are total pansies. Try going to a sacrament meeting on a fast and testimony Sunday. A bunch of crying betas slobbering on about Joseph smith. It's positively absurd. The only alphas in this situation are the 70 and the 12.

But the basic messages expressed in these blogs — family is wonderful, life is meant to be enjoyed, celebrate the small things — are still lovely. And if they help women like me envision a life in which marriage and motherhood could potentially be something other than a miserable, soul-destroying trap, I say, “Right on.”

You know how feminists try and say that this isn't the message about marriage, motherhood, and family that feminism portrays at all? Obviously not judging by how many women have the above mindset.

"You mean, they actually have good lives?!" is the response to Mormon mommy blogs. That should tell us something about feminism, women, and the overt destruction of gender roles and the family right there.

Because Mormon prophets teach the red pill philosophy only without premarital sex being a focus of the Alpha. This women sees the happiness that the philosophy has brought to their lives.

Mormon Prophets taught (more openly in the 19th century and very contrary to the religious teachings of the time) that sex is good, that it is not only to be used for procreation, and that it is an essential part of the male/female relationships.

Their proclamation about the family from 1995 is basically a manifesto on traditional gender roles.

"...By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children..."

You can still live the lifestyle without the crazy religion, if that is what makes you happy.
