Working hours needed to be reported on a timely fashion and I forgot to do it, my bad. He's the company owner and called me in his office, where he was reviewing hours with his assistant.

He told me that I needed to fill them in and this was a formal communication/complaint, and he had a point, no issues there.

However, he also added "I cannot insult you because she's in the room (pointing to his secretary), but you need to do this in a timely fashion".

How the fuck do you react to that? Telling me that is, essentially, insulting me in front of his assistant. Any ideas?
