I grew up with very strict parents, who wanted me to be perfect throughout my whole life. And therefore they wanted me to be as successful in my career as possible, and they probably expect me to find a wife and have a family. I discovered TRP a year ago and started lifting among other positive things that I implemented into my life, where they said something like: "muscles are useless, go learn something, educate yourself". And quite frankly I understand why they think like that. They come from such a hardcore-BP culture, and their parents also had that mentality that they forced upon them. At 19 I took a sabbatical where I was working and went to travel the world for two months. And now at 20, I went to study Software out of my own free will, but now I feel like I took that decision too early, and that I'm not where I should be.

I feel like I need to go on a spiritual journey and learn more about myself by traveling the world and meet new people, like some of my peers from high school do. If I manage to complete this, it will be with mediocre results and I would have to search for a job immediately or else no one would hire me if I take a break that is too long after I graduate university. Right now I study, and when I come home, I lift, meditate, make food and then I waste all the time I have left(which is a lot) on my computer as I have no social life. And this is really not how I want to spend my youth. I'm very dependent on my parents as they often provide for me when I'm broke. I would have no problem dropping out and do whatever I wanna do, and then take up university again in 3-4 years when I'm ready. But my parents and their expectations of me stand in the way.

What would you do in my situation?
