One of my ex's pulled that 'has my shit' and started talking to my buddy about it. I got mad at the time, because my bro didn't tell me right away. I texted her to 'mail it' and left it at that. There was no reasonable explanation why she should be talking to any of my friends about it. Needless to say a package never materialized and the communication ceased. Ex's have one agenda, to see if you still give a shit and by default it means you care so you are a little bitch.
