they married in college, have a 7 year old. I going to bet they are at the 9 year marriage mark.

I'm also going to bet she read up on divorce laws and saw that at the 10 year marriage mark she gets a much better payoff.

[–]MagicGainbow17 points18 points19 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yup op says it in an earlier comment, 9 years coming up, bitch got greedy early.

[–]Balls_so_hard8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She should have learned from Kobe's wife....

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The post was edited to include his state, which is MD. There isn't a 10 year mark in MD. So if she is qualified for alimony she will get it regardless.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

She doesn't even respect him enough to be subtle like every other gold digger. He needs to start hiding assets quick - this is an opportunity to play the moron (play a sucker to trap a sucker). Give her answers that make her think she's in a for a very small payout and start changing passwords.

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

That doesn't really work in divorce though. He will have to provide all of his financial records as part of discovery during the divorce case. He could start putting a little bit of cash into his pocket every week, but in general getting caught lying about assets is not a smart thing to do.

Fly to Vegas and withdraw as much cash as you can from various Casino ATMs. Take the cash and give it to a trusted friend the wife doesn't know about. Tell the judge that the stress of her leaving and cheating and filing divorce has made you develop a gambling problem, and that all of the money was spent on gambling, and that you are now destitute.

[–]johnbranflake2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

or take all the cash and buy bitcoins, if you have no friends

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm still somewhat unsure about the 'true' anonymity of bitcoin...I don't think there's any domestic case law about it. I'll admit to ignorance about bitcoin in general, myself. I understand the premise/idea behind it, but I'm still somewhat vague on the practical application of "mining" or the whole currency conversion aspect of it.

This is what happens in your 30's I guess...

[–]Knerd51 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Or gold coins and find a great hiding spot ( not safe deposit box!). Probably too late to pursue BTC. Fat withdrawals to coinbase would get noticed by a good lawyer.

He will have to provide all of his financial records as part of discovery during the divorce case.

I think drrrrr is talking about casual conversation before any official filing is made.

She's maneuvering for advantage, if she thinks it will be a long road to hoe, she may delay, giving him critical advantage.

What if the insane is the normal?

Or what you call insane is in reality sane. What if the self-interested want to rob the other person is completely rational and love is the insanity that keeps it from happening immediately after marriage.

We can judge from her behavior that she is rational in waiting for the 10 year mark to get the maximum from her "investment".

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, in her mind she is not being vindictive, spiteful, or petty. Her life is a mess but it's not her fault. He OWES her.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The past or future matters not to a woman, only the present. Right now someone else have her tingles and she wants more.

[–]Dreamtrain7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This just screams divorce rape no matter what pill you advocate for.

His longer post from 1 mth ago:

http://redditlog.com/snapshots/935753

  • they are in year 8
  • she had postpartum depression, which might be the real problem here, hormone/neurotransmitter instability
  • she asked for an open marriage. he agreed.
  • she went on dates with "Tom"
  • Tom is a good listener and pushes her buttons

this:

I leave with the kids to go to my sister's house for a visit today. Planned months before. Only to find out last night, that she is having Tom pick her up and she'll be with him during that time. She told me.

she is out:

My wife says there is no fixing it, she doesn't love/trust me anymore, she wants more for her sex life and to get away from me.

gaslighting. or simply bullshitting:

she told me this past Sunday that had I not gone through her phone and found out. Had I just left it alone and not talk to her best friends husband. She would have let it play out with Tom and ended it by July 5. And went back to the way things were between us.

She is just not attracted to him emotionally, period. She is just fabricating fake reality reasons, why she is not satisfied with him:

she would get angry with me saying I wasn't helping enough. ... She has battled depression and post par tum, ... More recently her argument has become that I don't pay her any attention. ... She wanted me to do more of the planning and for her take time off.

It goes like this: She is not attracted to him. She does not know why. She is throwing him accusations of neglectful behavior and tests to pass. ("You do not do task X well. Do task X better.") No matter how well he does the task, her emotions do not change, because task X was not the source of the problem. He is failing the test on her emotional level, so now she can say that she has given him the chance and he failed, again.

Dude needs to STOP earning money immediately. Yep, I said it. He should quit his job. When the wife files her child support/vaginamony is based on his income at the time of filing. The judge can and will throw him in jail if he quits his job after filing. Before, meh. He wins. Then after the divorce is finalized he can go back to work. Fuck this bitch. Pure gaslighting.

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

When the wife files her child support/vaginamony is based on his income at the time of filing.

That's not really the case. She can claim that he is voluntarily underemployed. Happens all the time.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Voluntarily underemployed? That sounds ridiculous. How far can this be taken? (e.g. would a burger flipper with an IQ of 150 be forced to pay way more in a divorce?)

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, particularly if you have previously held higher jobs. I actually accused my wife of being voluntarily underemployed when I was going through my divorce.

It's not that ridiculous. People quit their jobs all the time to try to act like they are poor and it doesn't help anyone - especially not the kids.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I only know one State and all of them are different. In my State a judge cannot order a man to return to work or to find a job. Apparently that is not true in all States so thank!

Always check with a lawyer before relying on legal advice.

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He can't order you to return to work, but he can base your child support off of an assumed higher amount that you could be making.

[–]papadop0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So he could get himself fired?

[–]neighborhood_man[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps, but he would be expected to be working to find a new job.

[–]LifeLibertyProperty2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Couldn't he file for divorce because of her cheating, and keep it all because of that? Or do I not know what I'm talking about?

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

By and large most divorces are considered "no-fault" divorces where that doesn't matter. In some states the cheating might reduce what he would have to pay her.

[–]papadop2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So...Doesnt matter she didn't honor the marriage agreement, she still gets his assets.

What a sickening legal system.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She didnt honor the marriage, that is just a reason for it to end. She didnt honor it but the fucking government will make damn sure that you do.

[–]neighborhood_man[S] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree that the system sucks. However prior to the "no-fault" system you had people spending months or years in court slinging mud at each other bankrupting themselves on legal fees. Hence the "no-fault" concept.

I agree with the no-fault concept, just not that she should get half of his shit. (or vice versa if she earned it).

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've said it before. I'm never getting married. Fucking ever.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Man. TRP makes me really see woman in a whole new light ..

[–]boffadeeez2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These stories fuckin piss me off

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck is wrong with this guy? What kills me is that people are telling him what she is planning and even giving him a road map on what to do. (get a lawyer and divorce now) Do you thing he is going to listen? What a fucking fool. Yet thanks to TRP, I learned that you can't save someone that doesn't want saving. You can give him pearls of wisdom to the point of drawing him easy to follow along pictures and he will not listen. I guess that is the most frustrating for me to see. He is heading for a serious crash, you're screaming to take your foot off the gas, and he won't listen.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Has there ever been a thread on here about how to protect yourself against this?

Pre-marriage considerations

In-marriage considerations

Divorce process considerations.

[–]neighborhood_man[S] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I will have a post on Asset protection going up. I have written ten pages. I hope to have the rest done in a few days.

[–]MartialWay3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Has there ever been a thread on here about how to protect yourself against this?

Yup, it's called the "Don't get married thread". There is a new one posted here every week.

[–]curious970 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My high school social science teacher (really redpill guy) told us in class that the best way to protect yourself against divorce-rape is to buy all assets you plan on using with her before the marriage, under your name.

idk how plausible that is, seeing as you may want to buy another house or a boat or something as you grow older, but I found it interesting that he told us this in like 10th grade.

[–]CreateTheFuture0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or don't get married, dumbass
