I forget who it was that said that men are romantics and women are realists when it comes to love, but The Key Logger drives that home. How many guys have this kind of support network in place? How many men who are in a relationship have a girl on the side they can call up for a deep dicking if their girlfriend/wife shows them the door? Almost none. The average man is conditioned to hang all his hopes on one girl, to the point where chodes will abandon their guy friends when they get a girlfriend, leaving them with nothing to fall back on when the relationship implodes. Meanwhile, the girl they think is the love of their life maintains her emotional safety net with obsessive-compulsive detail, so the minute her relationship goes south, she has her pick of suitors and court eunuchs to remind her what a catch she is.

This is one of the more insidious victories of feminism. Men are considered AWFUL if you keep one in the kitty just in case but women do this as a matter of course. As so many have said on this sub: Women have rid themselves of all the disadvantages of being female via laws and courts and culture, while they have simultaneously retained all their old, and seized new, advantages.

I bet this also explains the large disparity in suicide rates and why women "recover" from break-ups so quickly.

[–]Meatclap 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You hit everything perfectly.

There are other facets but in all honesty they are fringe compared to what you've observed; male disposability, a lack of communal supports, societal perceptions, monetary losses, clinical depression, court ruled familial rights or privileges subject to her terms. It's really a wonder more men aren't killing themselves when inevitable hypergamy strikes and they're tossed out while the world seems to turn against them.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Just a note on the suicide rate thing: Women are about ten times more likely to attempt suicide. Men are 4 times more likely to complete suicide. The reasons for this are numerous but one of the key reasons they believe this is true is because when men decide to kill themselves they have no mistaken idea of beauty in death and most often use hanging or shot to the head. Women are more likely to use pills (very unreliable) and slitting wrists (only 2% chance of death and it takes several hours uninterrupted). These methods take way too much time, and the likelihood of discovery remains high. They are also easily reversible. Hanging- Oxygen deprivation leads to complete death in 8-10 minutes. Shooting, well is obviously almost always a sure shot (pun intended). Oxygen deprivation from hanging is difficult to reverse, especially considering they would first have to cut them down and remove the rope which can take about a minute and a half depending on the knot.
Source: Used to work in a psych hospital, they taught us a lot.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Women aren't going to shoot themselves in the head because secretly women want an open casket and remembered as beautiful.

That's why they choose methods like pills or slitting their wrists because those can be concealed while an entry and/or exit wound from a firearm at point blank range cant be.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My mother shot herself though. It's not true for all women. The coroner told me that they had to do the autopsy without the head. I guess that's what happens when you use a powerful shotgun though.

A suicide attempt is usually a successful suicide attempt and not a failed attempt at suicide.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Not in the medical world. They are referred to as suicide attempts. Not failed attempt at suicide. The also have a scale of how lethal the methods or plans are. It's a huge form about suicidality that determines if they are to just be held on 5150, if they need to be in a room near the nurses station, if they need to be in sight at all times , or they need to be on 1:1 which is arms length from a staff member at all times. A suicide is a successful suicide attempt. A suicide attempt is an unsuccessful attempt.

[–]LeChevalierRouge 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

In the psychiatric world it is understood that many suicide attempts are cries for attention. My quote above is from an attending at a teaching hospital. It would be foolish however not to maintain close supervision of the patient.

For highly self-destructive patients, such as those with bipolar disorder (type 1), it is rare to find a suicide attempt that is not successful, as they are not just seeking attention.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It really depends. You take all attempts seriously. Some may be cries for attention but that actually doesn't mean it's any less serious. Failed attempts are actually the strongest predictor for future successful attempts. Also those who are very self destructive may not be in the correct state of mind to make a very lethal attempt, as it is often impulsive and whatever is available. I have seen many patients with Bipolar 1 that have made unsuccessful attempts. There is also the difference which many people confuse of suicidal gestures and suicide attempts. It is commonly accepted in the psychiatric community that suicidal gestures are often a cry for help, feeling that no one realizes the pain that person is in. Suicidal gestures and suicide attempts are often not differentiated clearly enough for many, even in the medical field.

[–]LeChevalierRouge 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There is also the difference which many people confuse of suicidal gestures and suicide attempts

This is the key difference. I agree that even suicidal gestures must be taken seriously. Even if it is a cry for help, it is its most drastic form and subsequent behavior will only get more desperate if the patient is not cared for.

Regarding your initial point, the higher rates of successful male over female suicide attempts is often interpreted as men's use of more lethal methods. I maintain that it is largely the difference between suicide attempts and gestures. The typical presentation of a young woman with slashed wrists is nearly often a gesture, while self inflicted gunshot wounds are not.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think truthfully many young women see that as a legit method because of the media. When I was 14 I did that. However when I was 17 I tried hanging myself- I did more research. God must have wanted me on this planet because I tried twice. First time my leather belt broke. Second time the ceiling broke.
Luckily I am out of the situation that caused me to feel that way (mother was extremely abusive- dad tried to get custody and failed because the legal system is bullshit) and my depression is very well managed with a simple antidepressant.
At my age though since I had seen movies, I thought the wrists thing would work. I do agree though that many times it's a gesture.

[–]LeChevalierRouge 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And that's the best reason to take suicide attempts seriously: even when they look like cries for help they can be sincere. It is sad that the care most people will get in the US are antidepressants and some cognitive therapy if they are lucky, while an abusive environment will not likely be resolved.

I empathize with your story, having grown up with an abusive alcoholic narcissistic single mother. I would have done much better living with my father but she had me terrified of speaking against her. Rising above our hardships and dedicating our professional lives to helping others is a life worth living.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty similar here. Mom was a methhead/ oxycontin addict . She even got busted for having a lab in our house (they returned my sister and I after a month). Mom was very narcissistic, and although my dad is too, he wasn't really abusive. Mom would burn me, and do lots of stuff but to the court she could do no wrong.
I do have depression, but it was amazingly easy to treat once I was out of the house at 18. Oh my cortisol levels went down too, wonder why. It's what made me want to become a mental health professional. I overcame depression, anorexia, and PTSD (from both the abuse and a violent rape). I got my shit together.
I wish I could still work, but I am disabled now due to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. But hey, my husband supports me and provides for me. And I do whatever I can to make his life easier. God has a plan for me, and maybe that plan is to inspire hope in others, and to be a good wife. You don't let that shit define you. Yes it shapes you, but so do our choices. At the time I thought my only choice was suicide. Now- well even in a wheelchair the world is open to me. I don't say, oh I'm abuse survivor, victim, depressed person. I am a 21 year old woman with loving friends and an amazing husband. I care about people, I suck at cooking though I try (baking is more my forte), and I love animals. These are things that define me. Not any of that. That is shit that happened to me. It's not me. That's the biggest lesson I feel I can give to others.

On a different note: The legal system for men is fucked up, so fucked up. My dad would have been great to live with. He's a doctor, and although busy a lot, I had a great stepmom there too. It would have been paradise, but the biological mother has so many rights, its ridiculous. Oh and she got massive amounts of child support (which went toward drugs of course) and alimony. Fathers have like no rights in the court system.

[–]Opioidus -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The medical field doesn't have the same understanding of female nature that we do. How many girls have threatened me with suicide if I didn't call back or took them out? God I can't even recall the number! Each one's a ''suicide attempt'' in medical terms.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Actually no, it's not. In medical terms that is a suicidal threat or suicidal ideation. Here's the terms. Suicide ideation: the contemplation of suicide, sometimes involving in making concrete plans, but not always. Thinking that life would be better if you were dead. Often abstract suicidal thoughts Suicide threat: Someone who states they are going to commit suicide. Suicidal Gesture: A nonlethal method of self harm that differentiates from regular self harm in that it is intended to convey an attitude or intent. Often little physical damage such as shallow wrist cuts or taking 10 antihistamines.
Suicide attempt: A possibly lethal method of trying to end one's life. Overdose, hanging attempt, deep cutting of veins, firearms, or driving a car into a wall on purpose are often in this category. Seriousness of attempt is based on the method used. Suicide: Someone who uses a lethal method and succeeds in killing themselves. Any of the above methods when successful, plus others.

So someone threatening suicide if you don't take them out is not a suicide attempt in medical terms. It can't even be misconstrued as an attempt unless they actually do something. If they hold a knife to their wrists and make little cuts, it's still not an attempt, it's a gesture.
Summing up, the medical field is actually pretty clear on suicidality. Regardless of gender. However due to methods used and availability, men are often more successful in suicide. Women who have access to firearms who are suicidal often have the same rate of suicide completion as men.
Source: Worked in a psych hospital. Also someone close to me committed suicide, my mother. She used a shotgun. It's mostly about the method.

[–]Opioidus -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Suicide attempt

This isn't an ''inherent'' difference unless you can demonstrate otherwise. As things stand, it's just seems to be a progressive transition from one type of emotional manipulation to another: Point 1. I'll kill myself if you don't give me enough attention, Point 2. Here look, I just popped these pills.

Summing up, the medical field is actually pretty clear on suicidality. Regardless of gender.

Now isn't that cute? It never is a gender issue when it's the ''wrong'' gender that's being victimized. Men don't have a gender when a problem affects males exclusively or overwhelmingly. It's not that men want to die more and make sure to do the job, it's just that they use different tactics. heh.

It's mostly about the method.

It's mostly about wanting to whore attention or wanting to finish the job.

Anyway, women will threaten suicide, will even ''attempt'' it as a mean for emotional suicide and the best way you have to protect yourself against it is to look for signs of crazy in them from early on and never ignore them just because you're horny.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, I truly don't believe that's the case. Depression isn't a "crazy" thing. Both men and women can have depression, although it is very sad that men are much less likely to get treatment for it for a variety of reasons. Yes there are some people who want attention, but again if they are willing to do bodily harm to themselves to get it, then it usually is an issue that needs to be addressed regardless. The medical field is clear on suicidality. It also acknowledges gender differences. I say regardless of gender, because the medical field, with the knowledge we currently have, take these things into account. If a male says he is depressed, people in the medical field do tend to take that a bit more seriously because men are less likely to admit depression until it is at a very dangerous point. And even when they admit it, they will most likely downplay it. The psych field is aware of this. Men are more likely to choose more lethal methods for a variety of reasons. One, it seems more men with depression have access to firearms. Two, women seem to think that they can still be "pretty" in death. They don't want someone to find them with a mess, or with their eyes bulging out of their head for hanging. They don't want to blow their head off because it's gross . Most think oh pills, I'll just go to sleep. Or I'll bleed out in the bathtub. Men don't care because they view death differently. At least at that moment. You do have to take attempts seriously, and people blowing off attempts or threats often regret it when they succeed.
I realize you are upset, but in this you are incorrect. These people need help, both men and women. Yeah you probably shouldn't go into a relationship with someone who threatens suicide at the drop of the hat, for a multitude of reasons, not the least that it is emotionally burdensome on you.
Men are not being victimized, but because of how our society is , and because of how men are innately, they are less likely to reach out for help. Most problems you can overcome, but sometimes (like going in for colonoscopy) you have to bite the bullet and get medical help.

The healthy response is to realize your anger alone changes nothing and take appropriate steps to protect yourself instead of being another chump taken in by the fantasy society sells.

Shariah law makes sense now, doesn't it. Mr. Forney made a big, pussy backpedal mistake when he claims to not support it. Shariah = 100% Red Pill society towards women. Women are wild animals and if you don't break them in and train them, they will stomp all over you.

Treating women as subhuman property is bad, but the consequences of not doing so are even worse. They are such bad apples that they don't even give you any choice.

Fuck them and break them, or they will do it to you. This is nature and they're the reason why we have to do what we do as men.

If you're a man reading this and you can't be hard enough to dominate a bitch the way she fucking deserves, then buddy, you are in for a world of hurt. Someone is always the bitch: you or her. They don't give you any choice about it. That's just how it is here on earth.

A bitch's existence is a shit test. Are you man enough to do your fucking job? Then put her in her fucking place.

Stop being blue or purple and be a man about this. Look reality in the face. Then win.

Man...the world, as simple as we can make, has so many layers.

I feel like a part of swallowing TRP is being able to accept the ambiguity of life and different layers interacting with each other while maintaining a positive, strong frame.

I need to spend some time on this. Identifying the layers of life through a redpill frame.

That may sound weird, but it's similar to how i learned about the true nature of women from early on. First,, i spotted a friends' long term girlfriend chatting up and flirting with a good looking co-worker of mine in his IM window that he carelessly left open, by accident. My company made that messenger application, and we still kept debugging logs of conversations during the beta phase. I was so overwhelmed and weirded by her behavior that i dug into the logs to find her conversation. It turns out she was casually flirting my coworker, who by the way was way above her level, despite the fact that he showed no interest and even called her out on her game. After that i discovered that hypergamy was a global trait of virtually all women.

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Read this from beginning to end about four months ago. ePub is on Amazon but not iTunes. Fascinating look into hypergamy and how hotter women are ALWAYS looking to seek validation and upgrade if they can.

[–]pursuitofman 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is where the male hamster rears its ugly head: believing that women are innocent and loyal.

Do not be fooled by beauty. Do not be fooled by kind gestures and convincing excuses/reasons. Women are always being pursued and they always have options. I can't blame women for acting as they do, if I had that many options for sex I would probably slut around too.

Just be a realist, see the world for what it is and even better would be find something else other than a woman to give your love to. Like a dog, or music, or craftsmanship. Something that you can pour your passions into and it wont cheat on you with the next best thing.

The only way I can describe it that their conciousness has any number of hermetically sealed "incognito" tabs open, each living a very different and contradictory lives...

This is fundamental Red Pill truth. It was demonstrated for me when my little sister hit adolescence and began to demonstrate differing sets of opinions and self-presentations among groupings of her friends. A woman will say what is needed to preserve her image in the specific social context.

I have one problem with this: biologically it makes no sense that sexual attention means the same to women as it does to men. What good is it to her if a man is sexually attracted to her if he's not willing to commit? Slightly better offspring at the risk of your committed man leaving you? Not a good deal. It all seems like projection to me.

There's more to this. Check out for example the sexy son hypothesis.

Sure, there are advantages of cheating, but these are not nearly as big for women as they are for men. Men: more offspring, vs. women: chance of better offspring or chance of a son who has chance of more offspring (which also implies that sexy men tend to sleep around). It's not logical that typically women instead of men would seek sexual attention.

It's more logical that either the author is projecting, that he was overly jealous (which is an adaptive trait for men) or that his stories are somewhat exaggerated because money or to morally justify his own cheating (see article).

Yah, it sure does. Google "irony."

It makes absolute sense when you live in an environment that removes a large portion of the risk/effort of bearing a child.

Providers are less valued in society that has ample enough welfare structures to help ensure living through pregnancy, childbirth, and provide resources to rear children.

And it will arguably even subconsciously affect women who do not intend to bear children. Far less "just in case" pressure when you know that the government will white knight for you if you make a mistake.

True, but this would predict that men and women are now evenly non-monogamous because there is no need for long term pair bonding for both.

Yes...

But that has nothing to do with which party is being honest about it.

Nor which party is being held accountable when they are dishonest.

For it to be truly equal both parties must be held to the same level of accountability and both must come to the negotiating table in good faith. This sub exists because one of those parties is showing an increasing trend in doing neither.

Thus why TRP recommends realizing that any women can be as bad as any man, (or worse in a local culture that gives women far less incentive to behave) and to protect themselves appropriately; even at the expense of having to adopt behaviors the come across to the ignorant as misogynist.

That is sound logic. Which does not apply to the impulse... You see my point I hope.

But when it's illogical that such an impulse would exist, I question those who claim that it does.

Impulse is void of logic. For example, smokers know that smoking is dangerous to their health, but the impulse to smoke supersedes the logic. Lust is an impulse, supersedes most logic given the one is even slightly uninhibited at the time.
