Virgin-shaming isn't as upfront and in-your-face as slut-shaming, but it's the other side of the same misogynist coin...

When male virgins are shamed, it's a form of misogyny. As you go through the looking glass, be prepared for false equivalences and inverted logic.

I know, however, that it's no more easy for me to be vulnerable with someone and say that I haven't had sex – knowing that people may react with disgust or disdain – than it is for women to be vulnerable and admit they've had sex when people may well react with similar disdain or disgust (or in more destructive ways then that).

But this doesn't correspond to his own experience. Who's ashamed of admitting to what here?

I'm sorry Travis, you haven't made any choices, you just haven't been chosen. You've done nothing to be ashamed or proud of because you're not a moral actor in the world of relationships between men and women, you're a permanent benchwarmer or an armchair quarterback.

And this speaks to your fantasy world where the sexes have mirror image life experiences. A woman your age who's a virgin is a virgin by choice and a moral actor - it's a reasonable assumption that she's been offered sex many times and turned it down because she has standards, ideals, morals, or whatever. Her morals have been put to the test and she's taken a stand one way or another. Judging by your photograph (and I know this offends against your fantasy world where gender neutral souls find compatible mates without any icky judging or objectification), you haven't had many offers for sex. So despite your moralizing, your sexual morals are untested.

By patting yourself on the back because you're not a rapist or a mass murderer, you may think you're The One Good Man, but the feminists to whom you're sucking up are more likely to think you're a loser who thinks he's entitled to a cookie for being a minimally decent human being.
