I get the feminist perspective here a la pantsuits used to be seen as inappropriate and now they're OK. But here's the thing: in my job, I wear what I think will make my client/boss happy. If you think showing some titty will help you win the case, show some titty. If you think that'll piss off the judge, wear a jacket with your blouse and dress conservatively.

I'll let all the fools out there bicker over what shoes best match your ideal expression of gender. I play according to the rules of the game of life. It's one thing when we're talking about the right to vote and have an abortion. It's another thing when your boss tells you you're not up to snuff on the dress code. Forget what the politics of the dress code are. You want to win the case or not?

When we say “looks” here, we mean a lawyer’s ability to dress appropriately given the circumstances, but being attractive certainly doesn’t hurt. Men are basically given a free pass. So long as they don’t show up to court looking like they just rolled out of a dumpster, they’ll be given the respect they’re due.

LOL, sounds like someone wants the power of the cleavage without the price of the cleavage. She's so used to getting these privileges, she doesn't even realize that her male counterpart isnt "rolling out of a dumpster" and still gettign "the respect he's due", her male equivalent didn't even get the job, and is getting the respect due a fast food manager.
