Last night I went out for dinner by myself. Just wanted to grab a bite since I didn't feel like cooking. I sat down in an outdoor patio area and proceeded to set up my new phone. Made some chit chat with the waitress, started drinking my beer. Next thing I know, another waitress comes by and asks how everything is.

I'll skip over the mundane details, but while we spoke about various topics, I just didn't show much interest. I liked our conversation but it was very nonchalant. At some point I picked up that she wasn't just talking for the sake of talking.

As I signed my bill and gathered myself, she came up and said bye. I said I was sure I'd see her around as I go there often, and she replied "or you could just have my number." Didn't even have to ask. The whole time I spoke to her thinking that it did not matter whether or not I got her number or her approval. I just "did me" as they say.

Now, she's no knockout, but it's a start for me. Never really had this happen before. We texted a bit last night, may invite her out with my friends tonight.

Just wanted to thank y'all for helping me find and develop that inner confidence that says "I've got it pretty great right now, and if you don't wanna come along for the ride, I don't care."
