Change to blue pill example for sure. This guy thinks that if internet dating were around when he was young then he'd have been successful, which means he doesn't know any young men who are in the exact same boat as he was when he was that age while actually using internet dating sites.

If anything, things are more confusing for sexually frustrated teenager and early 20s guys because there is a whole slew of new shitty conflicting messages being fed to them. It's at a fever pitch.

I did the online dating thing for exactly one month. I zealously looked through thousands of profiles, sent out about 300 short messages, got 30 positive (pathetic, I know) replies, 3 dates set, but two flakes, and so only one date to a girl who was a total headcase. I only went out of with her out of morbid curiousity: she was a dating coach! That business failed and she moved away. She was a horrible date. She was in a bad mood because she forgot her ID and they wouldn't serve her alcohol. I knew she was only interested in me because she knew what I did for a living.

Now, keep in mind, I totally underplayed my hand. I didn't do a "game" profile and I was straightforward and direct, although maybe a little playful at times. I didn't get expensive profile shots done. I didn't do any social proofing. I didn't try to make myself as marketable as possible. I didn't hint or suggest anything to indicate my standard of living, although I did suggest that I was intelligent and educated. I also aimed as high as possible in the looks department.

Some other tidbits:

I wound up hooking up with an ex-girlfriend again, which while a mistake, help me get over some issues.
The ONE girl who I actually wanted to go out with OUT of the THOUSANDS of shit, generic, boring, vapid profiles, mainly because her profile resonated with me as funny and witty, while she herself was attractive, wrote to me to tell me that she couldn't go out with me because of my astrological sign! There was no hint of this in her profile! She seemed completely incapable of that level of lunacy.
I learned that some women on dating sites crowdsource writing projects by asking lonely men to send them stories, or "tell" them stories. Then they turn around and publish them as books!
Many of them women I messaged were trolls; they weren't really on there to date, but to seek validation and ego-stroking.
The whole thing is POINTLESS because the only thing that determines whether a relationship of any kind will happen is CHEMISTRY but you only know if it exists if you meet someone in person, and the labor you have to go through to actually meet someone is simply NOT worth the effort. Just get off your ass and go out and meet people. If there is chemistry, then ask them out. Online dating is an artificial barrier people put between each other because they are greedy and think they can get to coveted and desirable prospects first. Everyone gets the same idea and mobs the desirable prospects, who, as it turns out, may not even be on the site.
I put up a complete joke profile with NO picture and got messaged by a girl with no picture. We chatted and I guessed her to be physically attractive, but wanting to be liked for her personality and not her looks. As it turned out, she was very attractive, but a gold-digger and a user who profiled me because I was dumb enough to my zipcode in my profile. Lololololol. She kept talking about how she wanted to make a lot of money . . . and then start a charity, probably to balance out her incessant talk of making lots of money.
