the prostitution laws of Sweden are already like this. A woman can sell her services, but a man cannot purchase them legally.

It's like saying "we should criminalize drug users but not dealers" but really worse than that because the lower end of least attractive men really have no other sexual outlet and only the most twisted deniers of human and animal nature think people don't have sexual needs.

Like in Sweden then... The ironic thing is, when this shit was implemented, prostitution moved underground, which gave pimps and gangs and shit more power over the prostitutes, since it was no longer overt... Which meant greater risks and more abuse for the prostitutes.

Protecting women my ass.

Oh, and the same goes for male prostitutes, who apparently are greater in number than female ones. But bad things can't happen to men. Only women. And ya know, as long as the intent is gooood and fluffy and juuust and all that, what could possibly go wrong?

I think a lot of people don't have a problem with the sex industry itself, but with the abusive conditions that come with the territory. I agree that the criminal type of pimp should have penalties against his behavior, but I don't see the sense in pegging Johns if you're not going after the prostitutes.
