I enjoyed this little story, especially examining it with redpill goggles.
A few choice passages (Pamela is his girlfriend, Kevin is the ex she's still seeing on the side):
Pamela and I are essentially putting on a performance for Kevin. The two outsiders, one drunk out of his mind, the other depressed and eternally abandoned, are dancing and singing and weeping for Kevin, our God.
And
Once I begin to leave her, she wants me back. Her e-mails become more plaintive. New Year’s Eve, 2000, is coming up, and she has not been invited to any parties. “What are you doing around New Year’s? Parties?” she asks me with a new shyness.
Anyway, I thought it was a good read. Maybe because I've dated psycho bitches back in my pseudo-bohemian early adulthood, and was a giant fucking pussy-cake just like this guy.

This story reminds me that after reading r/TPR and r/MR I often come away, briefly, with a feeling that all women are evil. Of course I don't really believe that in real life. What I believe is that women's capacity for corruption is equal to that of any man, but the strategies they use are very different than ones used by men. However, our society is incapable of seeing women as anything other than angelic special snowflakes that are always agents of good but only "bad" when some man forces them to be. Because there are never any consequences for bad behavior, women are incentivized to try to get away with much much more. Even murder.

Why is this story so predictable?
She is carrying a carpenter’s hammer, its head wrapped in plastic. In the restroom, as he is taking a leak, Pamela hits the back of his head repeatedly with the claw end of the hammer.... [B]ut several of the women in the creative-writing program rallied behind her, one apparently going as far as to take her into her home, in Gainesville, after she was released on fourteen years’ probation.

A lot of modern memoirs are written in this style. I'm not sure what to call it but it reminds me of Camus's The Stranger. People are illiterate so they think it's fresh or "real" when it's straight cribbed from existentialist authors from last fucking century.
