Tack that list to your mirror ladies and use them as affirmation. The right man will come along.....

Yikes.

Great post. The biggest difference from 1890 to 2013 seems to be how love is viewed. If love is viewed as an expectation, it is appropriate and even necessary to make demands of love. If love is a blessing, something that one enjoys and is grateful for, it is appropriate and even necessary to show your appreciation for love by accommodating others before yourself for the sake of love. More simply, 1890 woman was instructed to give love to her husband, while 2013 woman is instructed to demand love from her husband. Logically speaking, one only needs a moment to consider which love is stronger: where both parties give love freely to each other, or where both parties demand love from the other.

Something else interesting is that the impression I get from 1890 woman is that women are being instructed basically "marriage is a good deal for women, don't screw it up." Women do simple but boring chores at home, rest/gossip/nap when they want, while men work in fields/offices all day, even carrying their work around in their minds while home. Explaining this to women, this very simple and reasonable truth, helps them understand men. 2013 woman cares nothing about what a man goes through, only thinking "what have you done for me lately?"

Excellent thoughts. Any idea as to cause/effect in terms of giving/demanding love, and who marriage benefitted more? Did the anti-male marriage change love, or did the feminist movement's change of love change marriage?

Thanks! I would guess women entering the workplace is the big change factor from 1890 to 2013. In 1890, women basically had these life options: marriage, inheritance, convent, prostitution. In 2013, unmarried women have whatever option they like, within their income/credit limit. I just happened to hear on the radio driving home today, a radio contest to pay "up to $1000 of your credit card debt!" with a joyous woman screaming in the background, a past winner. I think that says a lot about where we are as a society.

If there is no "need" for a woman to marry, there is no "need" for her to offer anything in marriage. In feminist terms, 1890 woman was forced to placate her husband because the alternative was shame/starvation. I think it was a good thing for women to make social progress and no longer be "forced" to accept marriage as the only good choice in life. The challenge for feminism, and all of moden society, is finding a way to convince people to acknowledge, explicitly, that a happy marriage contains two loving people, not two demanding people. There must be a better way to explain incentives and life choices to men and women. The rare happy couple you find nowadays understands this.

Also interesting: 2013 woman has "non-negotiables," whereas the overall tone of 1890 woman is "be flexible to make your husband happy, and he'll make you happy." Seems like flexibility is good advice for both men and women. This one change has probable caused more marital discord and individual distress than any other, with men and women facing the modern dilemma known as FOMO, the willingness to jump ship at the possibility of a better deal elsewhere, rather than invest in one relationship and improve it over time.

A woman might have to curtail her behavior to make a man happy? MISOGYNY!!!! Only men should have to work for love.

Fuck, you should be a comedian.

That was more depressing than funny.

Good comment:

You don’t need a hamsterlation for that SSM. It’s pretty much narcissism straight from the pits of hell. On this topic. When do men get our freedom, our 100 % our space, our need to feel ‘hot’ and wanted all the time, great and frequent sex and to turf her out for a new model if she can’t perform and to be adored and prioritised over everything else?

When bitches talk about freedom, you know the only thing they talking about is freedom to go behind your back. This list is sick, there’s no other word to describe it. It is sick, sick, sick, twisted and evil. Mock it with everything you have.

No consideration for the man at all. Absolutely none. A woman who believes such nonsense deserves utter disrespect and scorn.
