A lot of men have a major, deep-rooted aversion to smart, funny, powerful women, especially one they wouldn’t beat off to.

Wrong. Men have a deep-seated version to collaborative lying. We don't care if women are fat. We just don't want to pretend to be attracted to them if they are.

If these women really were as smart, funny, powerful, strong, and independent as they say they are, they would not need us to validate them.

So go on, be fat. You're entitled to shovel as much cake into your face as you can stand to.

But you're NOT entitled to dictate my reaction to that.

You eat what you want with your mouth, and I'll say what I want with mine.

[–]FountainsOfFluids 10 points11 points12 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well said. It's amazing how they think they should be able to dictate our tastes. I like my women lean, and I don't apologize for it! Lean women with flat stomachs and a little bit of inward curve at the waist are the best!

[–]Words_of_Truth 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So go on, be fat. You're entitled to shovel as much cake into your face as you can stand to.

And shovel cake into your mouth while taking a bath,

Like Lena Dunham's character does in the pilot episode of the show.

[–]Words_of_Truth 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You eat what you want with your mouth, and I'll say what I want with mine.

You're forgetting that you're not entitled to free speech if it is hateful!

(hateful = different from mine).

[–]FountainsOfFluids 20 points21 points22 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

...when you really look at how quickly men disregard women of a certain weight, look or attitude not even as inhuman, but invisible, non-participants in the world to be ignored, you realize what a complete psychological hell that is, for all women.

I don't know about you guys, but when I'm around a woman who is overweight or unattractive in some other way, I basically treat her like a man. Professional, polite, and easily forgotten. Perhaps what they are really complaining about is that they don't get all the drooling attention that fit women get. Well, sorry ladies. Men have to be financially prosperous to be widely considered attractive, and women have to be fit to be widely considered attractive. It sucks, and it's hard, but that's how the world works.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Men have to be financially prosperous to be widely considered attractive, and women have to be fit to be widely considered attractive.

Confidence trumps all those things. There are plenty of rich, attractive and tall guys that can't attract women, or keep them attracted.

[–]FountainsOfFluids 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Let's be realistic. How is a guy supposed to be authentically confident without financial stability?

[–]Words_of_Truth 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Have you ever had any friends from lower economic backgrounds?

I myself come from a working-class background, and have seen many guys confident enough to get women no matter their financial situation.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Aye, in my experience, money is a factor in a women's decision to have sex with me with about 1-2% of all women I meet. It's barely noticable, for some reason some guys seem to think male attractiveness revolves around financial success though... Only way I could see being poor as a factor for why she might say no, is if you were horribly incongruent about your situation (i.e. dressing in an armani suit, lying about being rich, then being a complete cheapass and taking her back to your 1K for sex in a 1965 volare).

If your frame is consistent with your socioeconomic position then this doesn't seem to have much impact on ability to score short term relationships ~

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Roissy explains this better than I ever could. In my opinion, if you're gonna make money, do it for yourself, not for women.

[–]Rienfleche101011 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love that you said, you treat them like a man.

I just realized I do the same thing lol.

[–]Words_of_Truth 11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

A lot of men have a major, deep-rooted aversion to smart, funny, powerful women, especially one they wouldn’t beat off to.

Let's dissect this perfect example of womanese into what each word really means:

smart = stand-in for ugly

funny = stand-in for ugly

powerful = stand-in for ballbusting feminazi career woman who wishes to dominate men at every opportunity, be it her work environment or social functions

one they wouldn’t beat off to = so hideously ugly you wouldn't touch her with a 10-foot pole

[–]Words_of_Truth 15 points16 points17 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

On a related note, my girlfriend always describes her fat friend as

smart, funny or intelligent, never pretty

[–]FountainsOfFluids 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Your girlfriend must be a sexist dinosaur. /s

[–]Words_of_Truth 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No way!

Only old, heterosexual white men with right-wing political beliefs can be sexist!

Like Ron Paul!

[–]telnet_reddit_80[S] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Internalized misogyny then.

[–]Words_of_Truth 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

“she’s a dog/cow/pig/horse/whale/elephant/disgusting barn animal, she has no business getting so naked so often,

I'm 19, and I feel the same exact way.

Does my opinion automatically make me sexist dinosaur irregardless of my age according to her?

[–]chefjmcg 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Damn it, irregardless is not a word!!! Also, no. Don't let anyone tell you what's attractive.

[–]Words_of_Truth 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't let anyone tell you what's attractive.

Especially power-tripping feminists with a hidden hateful agenda. ;)

As a Canadian, US dialect does not constitute a change in the English language. Bootilicious is also in the Webster's dictionary...

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

That's because it's a word. Just because you don't like or agree with a word doesn't delegitimize it. Language is not static. It's ability to evolve is one of its defining characteristics. Shakespeare's English was once considered the default. Now it sounds like gibberish.

[–]chefjmcg -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Hahaha. Your great. You should go back through my comment history and see what else you want to fight over. Hahaha.

[–]chefjmcg -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I was unaware that irregardless had been added to the dictionary, but find it alarming that poor English is defined as evolution of a language. It's not like it's an abbreviation, contraction, or conjunction. I don't get why misuse would be reason enough for the change.

[–]Words_of_Truth 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn it, irregardless is not a word!!!

Haha, my bad. I don't always proof-read when I post on reddit.

[–]Words_of_Truth 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You might’ve as well as said “out of her place” or “uppity.”

Oh no, I guess those terms should never be used again (just cause they make a certain people uncomfortable).

I guess the "u-word" is the new "n-word."

Oh heavens no! Please forgive my insubordination and free thought, my feminist overlords!

Fahrenheit 451 here we go...

[–]Words_of_Truth 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

This kind of thinking needs to be wiped away because it’s twisted and damaging, good for no one.

Ah, good ole liberals, always the ones seeking to silence and shut-down people who don't agree with them.

[–]FountainsOfFluids 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

I'm a liberal and I believe in gender roles and sexual honesty. Not all liberals are feminists, and not all feminists are liberals.

[–]Words_of_Truth 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago* (17 children) | Copy Link

You're an example of the exception proving the rule.

You do agree that the feminism as a philosophy/ideology is deeply-rooted in Marxist thought?

[–]FountainsOfFluids -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

No, it is selfishness, pure and simple. It is women wanting all the benefits of being women as well as the powers and freedoms that go to men. I don't see it especially tied to any fiscal policies at all. While it's true that many women abuse the welfare program and push for benefits for women who want to be independent of men, that's not a philosophical movement. It's just women pushing for benefits for themselves. It's exactly the same as rich conservatives pushing for lower taxes.

[–]Words_of_Truth 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

If you dig deep enough, you will see that the tenets of feminist ideology are deeply rooted in Marxism.

I guess I can see where you are coming from (despite how truly awful that youtube video was). The two ideas parallel in many ways. But I can easily imagine (and in fact there are many examples) women who become leaders of enterprise and are not at all interested in the rise of socialism or communism. They just want equal treatment and opportunity. Now personally I believe that is a self-destructive ideal for the vast majority of women, but I don't see any reason to forbid it.

Now on the other hand, I also see some extremist feminists who are totally in line with Marxism. You can just picture them standing in the sun at some sparsely attended rally shouting on a bullhorn about some nonsense. But that's not most people, and therefor it is not most feminists.

I think the reason you see most outspoken women on the liberal side is not because of some pro-Marxism agenda, it's just because so many conservatives are so oppressive towards females. We saw many examples of this over the last election cycle. (Seriously, a hearing about birth control that had no women?)

And let me also just say that not all liberals are Marxists. In the US, there is an extreme minority of citizens who are really in favor of socialism. Most of us just want intelligent regulation of a few key industries that are crucial for human health and happiness, like the health care industry. I suppose for conservatives it probably looks like a slippery slope, but I think that's absurd. It's ridiculous to think that a government takeover of the auto industry or the computer industry would be beneficial to anyone, and most aspects of the free market are like that. There's just a few where, like insurance, it just makes sense if everybody participates (ie. helps to fund) according to their ability.

[–]Words_of_Truth 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really had no interest in following the contrived controversies of the last American election cycle.

Both parties are influenced by the same powerful interests, and put on a dog and pony show for the American public by arguing over football issues that are nowhere near as important as the issues they agree on behind the scenes (the Federal Reserve, banker bailouts, massive surveillance of every American citizen, increased censorship over the internet, etc).

Quite frankly, I don't give a fuck over what some Republican senator/congressman said about birth control / abortion or any other issue feminists seem to get enraged over.

Paying attention to the controversy only gives credence to feminist positions, which have very little merit, if any, on there own.

[–]FeatherMaster 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

most aspects of the free market are like that.

I disagree. Almost all aspects are like that including healthcare.

Obamacare and Medicaid are driving up the price of insurance and medical care so much, that private, transparent charities that help poor people pay their medical bills are going out of business!

The effect that excessive government regulation is having on the healthcare charity market makes me want to cry. These excessive regulations are hurting a lot of the people they're intended to help...

[–]FountainsOfFluids 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

You're misunderstanding me. Obamacare is a horrible compromise that makes sure nobody gets what they want except for sound bites like "Universal Coverage". Obamacare is a gift to the health insurance oligarchy, forcing people like me to eat less so that we can pay outrageous monthly fees for shit service. I'm pretty sure you're wrong about medicaid, but I haven't really examined that program too much. I'm not quite that poor.

The only real solution is single payer, which would absolutely drive prices down, because the government is able to set the price at a reasonably level for basic services, or even better they can make payment outcome-dependent. And rich people could still pay out of pocket for private rooms and the latest technological advancements. But at least poor people would get to see a doctor for preventative care or to get free flu shots (so fewer people get sick and die each year) or birth control (so fewer poor people will be brought into the world to weigh down the welfare system), which is an obvious win for everybody.

There are very few industries which would benefit from "universal coverage" like this. Off the top of my head, I would list Police and Court Services, Fire and Forest Services, Military Protection, Education, Disaster Insurance, Unemployment Insurance and Health Insurance. There might be a few more, but those are the ones that stand out to me. They're all under the category of "things that everybody needs whether they admit it or not".

[–]FeatherMaster 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

We used to have the best healthcare system in the world when I was a kid. Free market system can do everything that single payer can, without the government dependence.

Single payer is an outdated 'one size fits all' philosophy.

[–]FountainsOfFluids 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Bullshit. Every developed nation in the world has universal healthcare. It's only the US that ties health insurance to employment, and practically forces employers like Walmart and many, many others to keep people working at "part-time" so that they don't have to pay for it. I had great health care when I was a kid because my parents had traditional full time jobs. As a 40-year old adult, I can count the number of years I've held a traditional full time job on one hand. It SUCKS to be without health insurance. I have a cough that has lasted over a year, but I'm barely scraping by with hourly work and nobody is offering full time with benefits.

Single payer is the "everybody needs basic services" solution. If you want more than the basics, you can pay for the extras. That's how every other country works and it's this fucking "America is the best" attitude that is making us fall behind. The empire is crumbling and it's so infuriating to see people who ignore the signs because they happen to be doing ok themselves.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

As a citizen of the socialist republic of Canada, I find the American aversion to providing basic healthcare to all of its citizens to be goddamn confusing and seemingly shortsighted.

[–]Words_of_Truth 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lena dunham is disgusting, her parents are, unsurprisingly trashy artists.

however, i applaud people, of either sex, who become monstrously fat, like 300+ pounds. it's a huge FUCK YOU to society and i admire that moxie.

[–]FAwhy 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

While she is in fact fat, she isn't terribly overweight, just chubby (not a deal breaker for me), but what really turns me off is her haircut. This new dyke look is a major turnoff. I ran into a girl with one of these and her attitude was just shit. She thought she looked hot but she looked like a drug addicted little boy, but in her feminized mind she thought she was hot shit because she has a vagina and someone wants to use it. Whats the worst is she basically judges me as being not worthy of fucking her or even being around her presence. (not that i even want to fuck that nasty piece of shit)...

I'm sure she has a "I'm awesome because guys want to fuck me, and I can look like a guy if i want" attitude and that just pisses me off. I feel like punching her the throat. I've never seen the show "Girls" so i can't comment on that but I seriously hate this bitch and women like her.

[–]mpnsk2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

dude.. you wrote all that because of a girl and her haircut..! you made points, but the gerneralization is stretched

[–]FAwhy 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

eh i met a lot of girls with those boy cuts and they are almost always men hating hardcore feminists... its hard not to generalize when you see it so often.

I cannot stand this style of writing, I couldn't even get through the first paragraph. Don't see how anyone could've read this whole thing.

I feel quite alright as a fucking Tyrannosaurus Rex then!
