Take your job and do something local with the skill set. Or marry it with an interest.

Example: Am a software engineer. Love business. So I build websites for local businesses.

Example for interest: I also build sites, software and gadgets for science, mental health and education related things I'm passionate about.

Trick 1) Find something you love, so you enjoy it. You'll have a positive reason to do it even if you feel negative.

Trick 2) Make sure it benefits you, friends, your family, your local community, humanity, whoever. So you have a moral obligation to see it through. Do you want to look back at 75 and know you left everything worse off? Well it will be if you don't contribute when you could have. This gives you higher purpose even if you're not religious.

Trick 3) Relate it to your field of work or study. This means that you provide something not everyone can, and you bring insights from your training that may be useful in other fields.

Find something you love, that the world would better off with having, and that your work/education can be applied to.

An artist that inspires entrepreneurs. A video game developer that teaches health and safety to kids. A fitness junkie that has a website that debunks supplement myths. A TRP enthusiast that writes a book for noobies.

The dad that teaches soccer once a week makes more and helps humanity more than the armchair theorist who won't do anything because they won't gain 50 million dollars this time next week by clicking 4 buttons but there must be something that everyone in history missed that you'll find on the Internet or if you think hard enough.

I have a day job which funds my primary expenses, retirement and possible pension. I have stocks which is my side hustle ATM not super fast pay but definitely slowly growing. I am looking to buying houses to rent out indefinitely once I save enough to be able to cover rent if someone leaves or is evicted and down payment. And the last thing which is my primary objective is finishing this pre law degree.
