I grew up and live in a low-income, high crime rate part of London, UK. My area's full of drug dealers and teenage boys thinking they're the next Escobar. Most guys love to make hostile(?) eye contact, as if each successful stare down adds +1 point to their manliness. I don't know what you guys got going on over in the states with the nodding, it sounds great, but it just doesn't work here. I've been lifting for nearly a year, putting on decent size, and it seems more guys than ever want to 'one-up' me in a staring contest. I just want to go to the gym and get my groceries. How do I deal with eye contact in an area where the wrong look at the wrong person can get you stabbed?
