I can't tell if this is a stupid question so please excuse my potential autism

I was walking out of the gym at my school, and outside was a girl crying pretty hard. I stopped to make sure she was okay.

Her BF had just dumped her. I let her cry on my shoulder. Let her talk. I was her rock, etc

I got her number and she seemed very relieved and happy I asked for it. But is she fair game? I can't tell if this is either the best opportunity, or a terrible one.
