Do you lie on the interviews? You have to lie a bit and say that you just want work and you will work hard, harder than anyone else. That's what everyone does.

I would ask you what you want to do for work but it sounds like you just want any job. I need more info.

How old are you?

What are your strengths? Interests?

Can you do manual labor?

I'd say its 70% the initial interaction with the manager rather than the content on your resume that gets you the job for most places (at our age - im 18 to). And obviously a numbers game. So, make sure you have a solid chat to the manager.

Go in the store and ask employees directly for the manager, then say "hey how you are you, i'm just looking for some part time work, am i able to leave my resume with you?" then keep it rollin for a few minutes to show you're socially sound, have some good energy etc.

And if youve got friends, ask them if their work has any vacancies etc This has worked for me And in terms of lying, just maximise your old work experience. if you only worked for 3 months, say 6 months etc unless you think they'd ring them up as a reference lol

1) You need to keep calling and asking for an interview or a status update every 3-5 days, until they say "yes," "no," or stop calling us.

2) have a solid reference

3) ask questions about the nature of the job and who you would be working under. If the person who picks up the phone can't answer your question, they'll likely transfer you to someone who can actually set you up.

This is a mistake most people do: they start looking for a job.

If you're looking for a job, you will never get a good one - if you're lucky, you may land a job.

Since you're going to uni, you should already know what you enjoy doing.
Become amazingly good at that - even one, simple thing. Titles and degrees does not matter if you're extraordinarily good at the only, single thing you do.

It doesn't take a lot of work on your side: reading a few books on a single topic (and practicing) makes you better than 90% of other people in no time. Really, most people are just lazy and don't know how close they are to achieving something. You just need to take action.

Start thinking in terms of projects, not jobs. Land multiple projects in your field, find projects your skills may be useful in, and agree for a fixed pay or, even better, a revenue share.

This will help you build a good background experience and become a small celebrity in the field: in a few years, recruiters will contact you and propose you to join their company - and you will turn them down, because your unique skill is so high-demand that nobody can own exclusive rights on you.

You have to show interest in the job (this is speaking for minimum wage jobs). Call up there and talk to the manager, ask if they have reviewed your application yet and that you're very interested in the position.

During the interview, you want to showcase as an easy-going person that can get along with their staff. They don't necessarily care about your workload in the past, if you suck ass at work, they'll tell you to pick up the pace, they can't do that with personalities.
