I'm planning to have my testosterone levels tested. It's fairly expensive where I live, so I'd like to do it right.

I can of course go see a doctor before the test, but I can also just walk into the lab and then see a doctor to decypher the results... and pay a lot less. So I'll try here first and if it's too bro-sciencey, I'll talk to a professional.

Some questions:

How many times should I do the test? I've understood the testosterone levels fluctuate quite a bit – should I do it several times and then just average out the result? Is one time enough?

Most private hospitals in Europe are even advertising testosterone tests right now, so the procedure is quite straightforward. But is a simple free testosterone test enough or should I have other things checked too to make the most out of it?

Thanks!
