Alphas have no reason to have a LTR, they know women and know women will behave in AWALT terms inevitably, she is just "very nice, gentle, submissive and supportive" because he is higher value. The moment this stops or decreases. byebye nice girl, hello female dog.

Betas want a relationship with good women, but by their lack of value, they are treated poorly by women so they only see the AWALT side of women. With maybe one or two exceptions (usually their mother).

I hear about a lot of cases like this but I've never seen this happen. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen or that it's uncommon. It's just that in my entire life I've never seen the scenario myself so I have no way of giving you the information.

My best guess is probably one of the following:

People who've only or mostly known abuse will conflate signs of abuse with affection. This swings both ways. There's a lot of daddy and mommy issues in a generation where like half of kids come from single parent households. A lot of people look for signs of abuse but will also give off that behavior because they think it's attractive. Actual affection would therefore feel alien and weird and uncomfortable to him.
Something wasn't there. Either he wasn't attracted, or he wasn't emotionally available(weather or not he wanted to be), or some other element was missing. I'm not you or them and I can't say what that could possibly be though.
Shit happened unrelated to their relationship. This does happen. I have no idea what it could be. Maybe there was work shit. Maybe his grandma died. I couldn't tell you because again, I'm not that dude.

I'm not a behavioral psychologist and I'm certainly not that dudes therapist so I can't say anything for certain. I could be totally off the mark.

There’s no real way to know why he ghosted her without hearing it from him. Charitably, maybe he was scarred and scared by commitment? Uncharitably, he might have found her annoying for some small reason and decided to cut her off in the laziest, rudest way.
