Beware: Long Post. May be offensive to some and boring to others.

I keep reading these mainstream female websites, and female shows like Oprah and Samantha Bee, talk about how men "suffer in silence" as they get sexually assaulted. How rape is "equally horrifying" when it is done to men whether it's a woman or man committing it.

I also see men on Twitter and male politicians express how "horrifying" it is to circumcise women (also called FGM) because "OMG they cut off the clitoris to deny women equal pleasure and orgasms in sex! Most horrific thing on Earth! 1000 times worse than rape!!!"

The cold hard truth is both these things are wrong. Rape does not "traumatize" men. If it's a woman who raped him he'll be like damn, he's so hot that he made a woman horny to the point she couldn't stop herself. He'll feel great. And if a man raped him he'll feel a lot of pain and stinging in his back region but it'll subside in a week and he won't be saying "OMG I was so violated my life is ruined and destroyed it will never be the same again". The fact is rape from the standpoint of males is just sex. Men don't have the in-built programming to be horrified by it like women do. In evolutionary terms rape is the method for unattractive males to acquire sex and reproduce, and programming women to be horrified by it was just nature's way to ensure the genetically inferior males are less likely to breed.

A similar problem happens when discussing female circumcision. Males are evolved to want sex with all women and to view sex as one of the most important if not the most important aspect of life. Women however don't value sex like men do. Sex is just the price women are willing to pay for a relationship with men, which is what they really want. To them it's just a chore, which of course they might enjoy depending on the individual but it's still just a chore. You can enjoy working at your job but you wouldn't be there unless you were getting a salary. So when women hear about the practice of female circumcision most are indifferent, and the women who do campaign against it are solely concerned with how unprofessionally the procedure is done (i.e. without anesthetics or clean equipment) and the possible infections that could arise. Sexual pleasure is the last thing they care about. Incidentally you can find the same behaviour when women hear of a man's entire penis being cut off; they will laugh at how men make a big deal about it and say "it's just his junk".

Men and women are two different species, especially when it comes to mating and reproduction. Both men and women don't care to understand this and are more comfortable in believing the opposite sex is just like them.
