Crazy stuff isn't it? I get the same attention from girls at my workplace, but the thing is, I've got a general cold, distant, Grumpy Captain Haddock "get lost and leave me alone" attitude. So that if girls try small talk with me once, they don't try twice.

I really don't meet a lot of people in my daily life, and would you believe that there was a woman in her twenties that took an interest in me?

And I'm out-of-shape compared to how I used to look. When I was in my twenties and actually in good shape, it was very difficult to find women my age, that I wanted to date, who were interested in dating me.

If someone like this woman were the same age as me, and we were both in our twenties at the same time, I might have actually dated her. (That would have been before I walked away from dating.)

It doesn't make any sense. Unless, of course, you consider that one of the few things that I know that she knows about me is that I am doing pretty well financially. Well, that explains a lot. It's possible that even she doesn't realize exactly what she sees in me.

But I think that she would be disappointed to date me and find out that dating me these days would not at all be about spending lots of money for fun. More like occasionally spending time at home together talking or watching movies. Something tells me that she wouldn't have stuck around very long.

I heard that she found a guy who is also in his twenties. I'm thinking that's a lot more natural and typical situation, and probably for the best for her. I guess she's into some social media stuff that I'm not into at all -- really not much in common with me, it doesn't seem like.

Ha, now I know why I couldn't date well when I was in my twenties -- I was probably competing with guys who were ten-plus years further along in their careers and financial situations!

Still, there is indeed this feeling like a guy just can't win! If you want to date, you can't be successful at it; and when you don't want to date, that's when women seem to get interested, out of nowhere.
