Are women still “oppressed,” or does “oppressed” simply mean “still experiencing the negative aspects of living” in this context?

I think everyone forgets that women were emancipated only about 50 years ago, and people who lived during the time where racism toward Africans and sexism toward women were socially acceptable. We need more time before these attitudes will die, but to say that women are oppressed still because they can’t have everything their way (yet) is ridiculous.
