Scarcity mentality comes from an over investment in any one individual to fulfill your needs. It's a defensive position not an offensive one and is rooted in insecurity.

They will say things like "I don't know that guy, why would I care what he does?"

The women who say this have a form of abundance mentality, yeah. I wouldn't look further than this, to be honest. I don't care what a complete stranger does. I only care what other people think about him once I do know him. What are you missing?

To me it that just sounds like preselection at work - wanting to be with a guy who is wanted by other women.

Don't care about the stranger, even if he is wanted by a hundred women and wants to sleep with all of them except me.

Yeah but I only care after I have the guy. It's then that I want other girls to admire him. If he's a stranger to me I really don't care what he's up to or what other girls think about him. Seems perfectly clear to me.

Ugh you are on to something, but missing some key elements. If the other woman is uglier then me and he is flirting back it actually makes him even less desirable. If the dude is low value, even a chick flirting with him won't won't be enough.

Other then that I have felt something like curiosity/jealousy when a dude was being flirten with in our group. It passed rather quickly, but I did watch him for the rest of the night to see what he does with the chick
