Wouldn't you rather we live in a sexist world, than a racist one?

Do I have to live in either? Complaining about women with your buddy is pretty harmless. Instructing men on how to get laid with incredibly misogynist rhetoric isn't.

Saying there are "worse" problems out there doesn't magically eliminate the original problem. Por que no los dos?

As a related note, intersectionality seems like something that would be an interesting topic to you.

I mean I guess both are a result of confirmation bias and there's no way to fairly generalize the behaviors of a population in the billions.

But I would say that there is a better basis for sexism than racism in that there are demonstrable differences between men and women (beyond simply appearance) whereas there is no proven difference among races in terms of brain structure, hormones, etc.

The thing is, there are differences between the sexes. Other than minor physical differences, all races are equal. Furthermore, I think we need to differentiate between "sexism" and "misogyny"/"misandry". For example: the statement "women want their man to be a strong leader" is sexist, but it is not misogynistic as it is not actually hateful towards women in any way. The statement "women are all a bunch of cunts for wanting a strong leader for a man," however, is both.

On a personal level I agree with you, but on a level of the media and society its not really true.

Ferguson wouldn't have happened with Michael Brown was a black woman.

Um...no? Are you not thinking about this from a woman's perspective at all? A sexist man is more of a threat to a woman's life than someone with a racist grudge. Forty percent of murdered women are killed by their partners.

No duh you'd be fine with sexism. You're not going to get the short end of the stick as far as your physical well-being goes. Yes, emotional well-being is important, but also consider men who never marry are on average less happy, so that is a hard to prove gain. At least you'd most likely be alive to ponder it.

I'm not going to justify racism, because it makes no sense why anyone would be forced to choose between the two.

There is more of a chance of man on man violence than woman on man, so I don't understand your alleyway fear. Most violence is between men, including rape (especially in prison).

I believe that racism is more ugly, and has always had the potential for being more ugly for the following reason:

The old keying your car argument. No matter how much you "hate" women, it is a stupid proposition to kill or even beat your women..... it's *your** woman, that's like keying your own car!

She's genetically related to you, she's your daughter your mother, your wife. You aren't going to kill them, or even break their bodies..... (offer not available in China).

Nobody has ever seriously proposed to "station the national guard to shoot any white women trying to get schooling", or put mine fields in the border between the US and a female country. Because white women have a value that minorities don't. People are simply capable of more brutality the less related one is.

Seeing as liberals love to touch themselves at the thought of the EU..... I think they already made their choice.

But it's not just Europe, just look at any "liberal" city. They know what their priorities are..... pass paper bag laws, but they boot anyone making less than 6 figures out of the bay area. Be gay all you want, but be Black on BART and we'll fucking shoot you.
