TL;DR: An ex from a few years ago (who I barely even talk to) introduced me to her new beta boyfriend. The question is, why’d she do it?
I was at a casual event yesterday and I ran into my ex from a few years ago (who I barely even talk to). She came up to me and hugged me out of nowhere, so needless to say I was a little caught off guard, but no big deal.
We were talking for a little bit and she ran off to go do something. 15 minutes later she comes back and wants to introduce me to her new boyfriend.
He didn’t talk much but when he did, he had weak tonality and was to himself. She even talked over him and said, “Oh, he’s bad at talking.” And he even confirmed her statement. When I reached out to shake his hand, it was limp as a wet towel. Since neither of them said a word after I met him, she said that they had to go and they both left together.

I have absolutely no intention of getting back with this girl, nor do I care about her new beta boyfriend. If anything, I’d consider having her as a plate. Richard Cooper said something about once women secure a guy, they’ll parade him around and show him off to everyone they know (the “look what I got” or the “look what I brought home” mentality). The whole interaction was kind of odd and pointless. The question is. Why’d she introduce me?
