I am aware this is not a simple/obviously relevant question, but I don't have any RP role models and people here looks older and wiser. I want to be less clueless about my outlook on life.
How old are you (and how old is your partner) and how familiar are you with RPW? 23, the guy is 23 too What is your relationship status? Single
What is the problem? (Don’t badmouth your SO!) I feel like I need to be angry with this guy. Overall I'm glad for the impact he made in my life really.
How have you contributed to the problem? By not being redpilled, I guess
How long has this been an issue? 2 years in total timespan
What have you done to resolve this? I try to heal myself by shifting my focus.
I have been lurking this sub for a year and a half. I didn't want to post from my original account since it is not anonymous.
Extra: We are both from Middle Eastern countiries, I am raised in a liberal way, he is in a traditional way.
I don't want to consume your time, but if you find the following version short of details, I can provide any.
I had alpha male friend, who was very incompatible with me at the beginning- I used to be a feminist. I was a mess, lookswise and mentally (was trying my best to get out of depression) when we met. We became friends because we had to spent all our time together due to school and work, it was not an instant click.
We became fond of each other with time and started flirting, but he decided we were not competible and did not start a relationship with me. He gave me no real explanation untill I brought up this subject. There were no physical intimacy at all, just a real emotional connection, or I believed so. He started dating another girl right after. It made me feel humiliated since we had a small gossipy social circle and cost me my job-partially.
This was all a year ago. We see each other frequently in school still, we are in a really small classroom, but no real contact at all. I cut all my contact after our business relationship has got to an end too. He tried here and there to say hi, talk to me etc. I responded kind and cold mostly.
I just had the nerve to think about this in an objective way. The guy implied me what kind of woman he wanted, submissive and respectful, during all the flirting for a whole summer and I just did not listen. I had been treating men in a bitchy way for so long, but none of my friends warned me about neither this nor the false belief system that I had. He took the time to open my eyes, talk me out of all that in a calm way, in that year we spent together. I'm kind of grateful he made me become somewhat less clueless. He used to go out of his way often, for the sake of my well being, so I believe he was sincere when he used to say how much he cares about me.
I think, we both made our mistakes in this matter. I forgive him. And I'll be more friendly next time we cross roads. I believe I'm tend to forgive people who hurt me generally. I believe people are always after their best interest, and as long as it's not truly immoral- which never happened yet- I forgive them. And I like apologising sincerely if I believe I've hurt someone.
Is this compatible with RedPill? Most people I know, who are more succesful than me about relationships, would just got really angry and shout at each other and never look one anothers face or talk trash behind one another. I'm kinda worried my outlook compared to this, looks weak/too soft.
If you find this very emotionally immature, which I blame myself to be often, I'm a fan of tough love so bring it in.
If you say, "hey this is just a dating strategy, not a religion", true that. But I want the insight of redpilled women. Thanks for reading.
