What habits or activities caused the biggest impact to change your overall presence, and how do you maintain a consistent state?
I mean 'energy' and 'state' as how someone else perceives the combination of your body language, vocal tone, optimism/pessimism/state of mind. Your energy. What you are unconsciously conveying to the world. I don't know much about trp, but this was the first place I thought would understand or be able to explain this because a grounded, relaxed presence is alpha.
I watched part of this interview with Shia LaBeouf, and was shocked how changed his presence is. I'm curious what specific changes he's made in his life that gave him that groundedness and how to maintain that every day. I know that feeling after lifting or meditating, but getting it to stick is difficult. Apparently he does an hour of cardio every single day. I can't imagine that's it though - there has to be a mental aspect too.
Side note - the interview had the odd effect of making me realize that other people frequently make me feel being grounded or just an alpha type presence is wrong. The tldr of the video is that Kristen Stewart seems like she showed up expecting to talk about the weather and is met with a real person who is interested in her - she gets more anxious as the interview goes on, but the man is so unaffected by it. My overall take on the situation is that honest attention and actually listening makes a lot of people uncomfortable, and they want shallow interactions and small talk. When I experience that reaction, during conversation, other people's anxiety makes me want to shift my behavior to make them more comfortable and it breaks my zen. Doing stuff like sympathy laughs. I feel like I've been perceiving their inner problems as myself doing something wrong. Still not quite sure what is right to do in these interactions.
