Cool post, man.

1) It matters to me. Sex is risky. There is risk of STDs, pregnancy, and simply ending up in wrong places, with the wrong people just because you wanted sex. Having a high N count simply tells me your judgement is a bit too lose for my taste. Too high risk. How high is an N count? I don't have exact numbers, but I know women whose N count is "I just forgot how many men I have fucked" and these are women that overall, do not appeal me at all and they did not appeal to me before I knew about their sex lives.

2) It is the other way around in my opinion. Older women have higher standards because they are generally achieving more and more and want men to be at their level -which is increasingly NOT happening. I see MANY older women alone and complaining about it, and when you ask them how would their possible mate be, they give me a picture of Yanis Varoufakis or some movie actor. I am not kidding. Thing is, even if they have to lower their standards, would they have any other choice? Highly attractive males are not looking at them (for the most part) they are looking at the younger women.

3) Yes. Getting married in this time and age is madness. There is absolutely no benefit to it. Here I am fully in agreement with TRP. Do not get married and if possible, stay childfree. I have seen too many men (and a few women) get absolutely chewed up by this. Fuck it.

4) Indeed seems to be the case. But I don't care. I don't take part into that discussion. I have no time for it. I work with the tools I have at my disposal and I make the best for it. In real life, no one fucking cares.

5) It is true, of course, as you say. The 80/20 exact figure can't be a stone hard truth and probably moves a lot between cultures, times and situations, but overall, there are winners and there are losers. And the winners get laid A FUCKING LOT and the losers are very much untouchable. I guess this is exacerbated in the US with the obesity epidemic and income inequality going up while social media and mainstream media keep reinforcing the beauty standards...

I think there is some consensus on posivite things about TRP: taking care of yourself, standing your ground, learning when to say no and when to walk away and yes, women are not these special creatures deserving our admiration: they are a shit as we are. They deceive, machinate, cheat, lie and coldbloodely plan as much as we do. Because we are all humans.

But of course, trp just turns into a mysoginistic cult real fast and the sub is populated with 90% bullshit posts and angry, horny dudes looking for answers.

1) Ok, that's your personal choice. I hope you're honest enough to also only have sex in LTR but again - it's your preference.

2) I have an impression that standards get "higher" with women who are single for a long time or single after 30. Or, to be more precise, the standards get more specific. For example, if the guy has a habit that irritates her, she's out of there. So it becomes harder to find the "right guy", because there are less and less people who meet the specific standards. It's possible looks become less important over time. But I really didn't notice standards as a whole dropping. If anything they become harder to meet - at least in the case of single 30+ yo women I know.

3) What solution does the red pill propose? Women being personal property of men, and other laws from the past? Don't forget that women back then didn't have the right to even opt out, which is a right men have today. I would be more inclined to listen to this concern if red pill solutions were not so unfair to women, way more unfair than they deem modern marriage laws are towards men.

4) I agree. I may have some stuff to add but overall I agree.

5) So, if you take a group of ten random 30 year old men, eight of those men are virgins or only had one girlfriend at best? Because that would happen regularly if 80/20 rule was true. It doesn't even have to be 30 year old men, it could be any age group of men after high school.

Yeah, TRP grossly misunderstands this concept, which is explained better on MRP and r/RPChristians - that all women have certain underlying tendencies, but every woman expresses these differently, and some can even overcome those tendencies entirely. As a Christian, for example, I embrace that God created men and women uniquely and differently, and that as a result of the fall, there are certain patterns of sinful behavior that we both fall into (not just women). So, it's helpful to know what those patterns are so that we can appropriately account for them in our relationships. But that doesn't mean that every man will act exactly like Adam or that every woman will act exactly like Eve.

Alpha/Beta

You're spot on. The dynamic isn't defined by caricatures, but by someone's internal point of origin. To that end, intelligent men can still be beta and idiots can still be alpha. It's more about whether or not you're able to make decisions for yourself and follow through (alpha), or if your lifestyle is one of supplicating to those around you (beta). Where it gets really murky is when you're dealing with subconscious influences, so a man might think he's making his own decision when in reality he has been played by someone else. I must do this frequently with my job, for example. As an attorney, it's one thing to argue a point to persuade something, but it's even better if I can cause the judge to believe he/she came up with the point on his/her own, in which case the point is far more likely to stand and result in a favorable conclusion. To that end, the "alpha" is the person less susceptible to manipulation and the "beta" is the one who is ignorant of the ways he is being manipulated.

Who is average TRP?

I've been curious about this myself. You'll never find the average user, but for some of the moderators, you can look on youtube at places like the 21 Convention, where they post pics and speeches from some of the popular men in the red pill circles.

Although I don't subscribe to this philosophy in general, I completely agree with your conclusion about masculinity and femininity being complementary to each other.

N-Count

As you say, the raw number isn't the important thing. What's relevant is what it shows about a person's character and degree of trustworthiness as a raw matter of statistical probability. A woman who has had dozens of partners and been married 3 times before, statistically, is not likely to remain in a committed monogamous relationship - and the same thing can be said about men in the reverse.

On r/RPChristians we take a different stance than the secular view, as we account for things like "repentance," where a person recognizes the inappropriateness of their past behaviors and commits to living their life a different way going forward. To that end, a woman who has a high n-count who has genuinely repented may still very well be a reliable partner. The trick is evaluating the genuineness of the repentance.

Dropping standards

This is a real phenomenon, as you note. The reason you notice this as particularly true in the 30+ crowd is that at some point in life people start getting desperate, believing, "If I can't find someone soon, I'll never find someone." As a matter of course, there is a real social stigma that people in certain age ranges who have never been married have stayed single for a reason. This is a very rational caution to be mindful of, regardless of the way anyone else may want to normalize it.

Marriage laws

I'm a divorce attorney. I can affirm that the marriage laws are pretty awful - but not for the men. They're awful for the primary breadwinner. The laws are internally contradictory. In my state, for example, we have two weird laws:

Both spouses are deemed to have contributed equally toward the marriage.
The higher-earning spouse must contribute financially toward the lower/non-earning spouse.

What makes this weird is that the non-earning spouse does not have to contribute anything back from her otherwise "equal contribution." So, during the marriage, suppose you have a husband who earns $100,000/yr and a wife who stays home to watch the kids, clean the house, do the laundry, tend the garden, etc. After a divorce, the husband must contribute $50,000 to the wife, who then gets this money without expending the time to get it, and then utilizes her time to clean her own house, watch the kids on her days, do her own laundry, tend her own garden, etc. The husband lives on the same amount, but must suddenly pay a nanny to watch the kids, hire a house-cleaner, gardener, etc., which means he's living on substantially less than his ex-wife.

Now, as a matter of statute, the same situation could theoretically play out in reverse, where the woman is the higher earner and gets screwed. However, deviating from the statutes, we still have a host of "older" judges and magistrates who have been on the bench since before the laws started reverting back to a more "equal" position and still make rulings based on the old way of doing things, which was that women always win. So, even though the statutes have gotten better at avoiding gender discrimination and now only discriminate against high-earners, the judges themselves still employ significant gender discrimination, except the ones who are under the age of 40.

Women's v. Men's Rights

I'm with you on this one. Even in the court system, the judges just don't want to hear it. Their usual deferral is, "Petition your legislature," as if even a horde of individuals petitioning their congressmen could stand a chance against the mass-funding put in by lobbyists who generally profit off of the issues that are more appealing to the media.

There was a post on r/writing a few months back about a female author who was starting a competition with a publication offer for the best crime novel that did not involve a female victim. She commented that she's sick of the way society cares more about female deaths than male deaths, but also that it's degrading to women to treat them like they're defenseless. Her whole rationale was really an interesting read and exposed a lot of the issues working against both the men's rights and feminist movements that really need to look toward better alternatives than the hate that gets spewed both ways.

Pareto distribution

There are general trends that follow the pareto rule, but it's somewhat fallacious to assume that because one thing does, another must - especially when you're crossing sample lines. For example, I can appropriately say, "I sampled 100 hurricanes and found that 10% of them did 90% of the total damage among the sample selection. I reasonably believe that if I sampled another 100 hurricanes, based on my dad and the confidence intervals laid out, the second set would provide similar results." But if we say, "Because of that result in hurricanes, it must also be true that 10% of the men are having 90% of the sex with women," now we're crossing an inappropriate line. New data needs to be drawn with its own conclusions that matches what the data points reveal.

Anyway, this has been fun. As I'm sure you see in this comment, I am not a big fan of most people on TRP and a lot of the stuff you read on there is going to be utter trash, but there are certain truths within the red pill which are worth retaining - and my personal belief is that those truths came from the Bible first, hence my starting r/RPChristians as a way of sifting out all the garbage.
