Hello brothers,

Longtime lurker here. I've been out of school for over a year now. I got a degree and transitioned into the field of IT, and have been doing very well so far. However, these past few months, I've been feeling something inside of me say to go back to school/seminary and pursue becoming a pastor. Part of me feels like it would be the right thing to do, but the other part of me feels that it'd be throwing away a good career and the impact I'd be able to make in a pretty secular field.

The main thing at this point that's causing me turmoil is that in my work, in periods of downtime, I have opportunity to study IT subjects for advancement and certification, and instead go to the bible, books on improvement, and searching for ways to improve myself/the lives of others. And that's something I've always been drawn to, but I don't know if it's a form of procrastination, or it's truly a calling.

Thanks in advance, God bless.
