Are some things just to 'gay' for heterosexual men?

The majority of men avoid doing things that may label them as "gay", because women are not attracted to gay men, so women dictate what is "gay" or not.

Personally, a man liking other man romantically is the only thing that should be consider gay, everything else is just what people in general do.

Men don't want safe. We want fun. We want balls-out crazy shit to happen. We don't want soft. Soft is gay, it repulses us.

I think you are just rationalizing after the fact, I don't think men think like this.

We don't want fun. We want struggle, we want to strive for something greater, need a goal and a vision.

Those used to be easy to come by: Kill the neighboring tribe, and fuck their women, Die at 34.

Now its a little more daunting: Work for 50 years, and put a lot of your income towards 401k, so you can spend your 70s-90s traveling. It's simultaneously too easy and boring and predictable.

It’s “gay” for hetero men because average western men don’t know what struggle means. You are praised for everything you do, your safety and well being are prioritized, no one tries to hurt your feelings, everyone wants to see you successful, everyone shows you love. “Struggle” is a game for men.

Gay, you keep using this word, but I do not think it means what you think it means. I think it is more telling that many men are so terrified of being perceived as gay that they become a living caricature of over dramatic reactionary masculinity. I mean seriously, I'd rather be gay than spout insecure nonsense like this.

Wanting peace is not gay. Showing compassion to other people is not gay. Thinking bar fights are a terrible idea is not gay (unless you enjoy risking serious injury or assault charges). Respecting your significant other is not gay (of course if you are gay, then it could be gay because then it is as defined a gay relationship).

You say this as if its true and I have heard many man say this... but the men who I've heard say this are often some of the biggest cowards I know. The men I've met who say things like this want a "fake" challenge, they want to do something they know that they will succeed at, all while saying their opponents are really strong and they are very manly for doing the thing. They want the illusion of being tough and spontaneous without the actual risks that are involved. All of the men I've met who have said things like this are hypocritical peacocking cowards.

But you do raise a point. Maybe the divide is between rational actors on the blue side, and delusional cowards on the red side.
