Throw away all the technical points, rationalization etc. and I think part of the reason men dislike certain ideas about the world...is that those ideas are sometimes just really gay.

Let's all hold hands in friendship and sing songs of togetherness as we unite the world in peace!

Let's be super sensitive and compassionate to everyone's feelings!

Let's create a world where no one ever gets into a bar fight, and all relationships are wholesome and mutually respectful and cuddly sweet!

...do I have rational arguments against those things? Maybe, maybe not. I think the heart of it is that hearing those things just make me cringe and be repulsed, because those things, and the way they're expressed, are gay as fuck.

South Park, in all it's predictive brilliance, had an episode about this years ago, as seen in this clip.

Men don't want safe. We want fun. We want balls-out crazy shit to happen. We don't want soft. Soft is gay, it repulses us. It depresses us. We don't want to live in a gay-as-fuck world. Maybe beyond all the bullshit, that's a big part of the divide.
