Here is a bunch of studies of paternity misattribution. Notice that it is a field that "noone" REALLY wants to study seriously because that would hurt women's feelings. The ridiculous high spread (between 1% and 30%) is of course depending on the sample.

That is the whole problem for this kind of studies: the sample. It would not be too difficult to offer systematic DNA screening under the guise of looking for health issues and check that variable.

There is no way it is that low, I've heard France is more like 30% and it would make sense as French women are very liberal and sexually promiscuous and exploratory. Robert Sapolsky has stated that globally the range is from 10-40%. You have to be out of your mind to have a child with a French woman, the nuclear family is dead and only exists as a deluded fantasy to the remaining men that are believers. Honestly I couldn't think of a more cruel way of screwing over a man than leading him on to believe that children that aren't his genetically are his. That is some twisted shit, right to the heart, break you psychologically vile opportunistic behaviour. The risk is so high and knowing myself such shit would drive me insane and end myself that I highly recommend guys get a vasectomy, save some sperm in a sperm bank if you want children down the road, but it simply isn't worth the pain such insanity will bring you. Also p, if you do have a kid always get a paternity test even if it kills the mood.
