We're all aware that presentation is important, whether it's our dress, our posture, our voice. Why then do we not take more care with our words? I don't think I've seen a post on here that hasn't mistaken your for you're at least once. I find it difficult to take on board what people are saying when I read a post from a "top 20% male" who tells me "the secret to they're success is x" or that you'll never make it anywhere if "you're wardrobe isn't reflective of you're status".

I understand that this isn't a grammar school and that it's not entirely necessary to speak perfect English, I also understand that not everyone here is a native English speaker. But when people get lazy and just say they've written their post on their phone or they're in a hurry, I can't help but feel a bit disheartened that the bloke telling me how much improvement I need to make can't spell on a nine year old's level.

Proof read, spell check, whatever you need to do. I hear countless times from employers how when asking people to write without the use of technology or without a spellchecker how awful their written English is. We preach practice makes perfect here on a lot of topics, and I believe if you're not taking places like this to try to perfect your English (obviously not if your first language differs) then you're missing out. I couldn't imagine presenting something to my boss if it was written like a lot of what I read here.
