Summary: Best friend accuses guy of rape. The Hamster knows no bounds.

Article Here

This happened in South Africa.

Her friends testified that they had seen her before with her “rapist” and that they often touched each other and swam and played around. According to them the woman seemed to be very comfortable with the man.

I can only imagine how the guy's life has been temporary derailed. At 20 he probably was on his way to college but for 3 years due to hamstering, has probably faced nothing but scorn and ridicule. Firstly he is really lucky to have been on bail throughout the duration(South African Jails are not a joke) and secondly that his appeal was successful.

Im really intrigued what rationale induces someone to falsely accuse someone of rape, something that could potentially throw someones life in the garbage. Why is there no stringent penalties for false accusation? Why aren't women shamed for potentially trying to destroy an innocent man's life? The answers are clear but it's something hard to come to terms with.

Lessons: You can never be too careful out there, even with your ''bestfriend''.
