Summary:
In this field report I will discuss how a good first impression can carry you through a loss of SMV.
Body:
As some of you may remember, about a month ago I wrote a post about going to a Lake House and sleeping with an attractive girl. Some of the discussion led to whether or not I will see her again. As it turns out, she drove 5 hours to come visit me for the weekend.
I simply told her: I like you and I want to see you again. Come visit me.
She said yes and before I knew it she was coming for the weekend. I told her I would take care of everything (dinner, date stuff, whatever). I told her this because I would do it for a friend that was coming to visit me - they are my guest and I will take care of them regardless of gender. Anyway, now lets get to the interesting part.
Before she came, I shaved my head. I reduced my SMV significantly. I do NOT look good bald. To make sure she wasn't going to waste my time, I send her a snap chat showing my shaved head to "have a good laugh" but really I wanted to see if she would still come. She did. However, I later heard through the grapevine that she did not like my shaved head. When she eventually came, I maintained high SMV simply by being the same person I was. As it turns out, my personality is attractive to her, despite not having as great of looks now. I know have a heavy hunch though, that if I had met her bald it wouldn't have worked out. My conclusion is this - good looks builds initial rapport (maybe a one night stand) and your personality keeps the plate spinning.
Even though I was lower in SMV, she still remembered me as a higher one and my persona was consistent throughout.
SMV is relative. It is dependent on your looks but it is also dependent on a girl's memories and your personality.
Lessons Learned:
SMV is relative (for girls) Maintain frame even if you think you've lost SMV Don't shave your head for no reason
