Thoughts on wedding ring tattoos?

I'm getting a tattoo removed on my foot and the technician has told me horror stories of removing finger tattoos. It doesn't work the same way as on other parts of the body and it's something I'd recommend researching first.

My husband works in manual labor and trades out his gold band for his black rubber one every morning and afternoon. He hates tattoos, so that's what works best for him.

I don't want to be a negative Nancy but I've known too many people with wedding ring tattoos who got divorced. It is practical especially if you work a job where wedding rings get in the way, but...maybe get them after you're well into marriage and have gone through some ups and downs.

Does he really prefer a tattoo? Nice! 👍 Never thought about it before, but it sounds kinda cool! I'm not really a ring person tbh.. I am actively trying to wear rings just to get used to the idea that I might be wearing a wedding ring at some point at all times... lol... Tattoo sounds great though. If my future husband wanted to get tattoos, I'd tell him if he ever wants a divorce I'd cut his finger hehehe 🤭 I'd say go for it

I think he must really be set on this being lifelong if he's willing to put a (mostly) permanent mark on his body. That just seems like an even higher dedication to me than just a ring. I personally wouldn't dissuade a man from doing this.

I think they are super practical for those who work with their hands and are often in safety violations if they wear a ring. I personally wouldn't be opposed to one either, but it will depend on how many more working years I have left before we have children. If I will be more stay at home, I might opt for a physical ring.

If he wants a tattoo that’s fine but if you prefer a ring, that’s what you should get.

I love the idea. As was mentioned earlier, they need to be committed to the marriage, as divorced life gets even more complicated than normal if the ring is a tattoo, but assuming that the true commitment is there, I say go for it!

I’m actually planning on getting one as soon as I can. The whole COVID-19 thing messed up my plans for getting it before now.
