Summary:

I lay down the commonly accepted life ideals and timelines/paths to take, and try to objectively look at how to make the most of life as it really is.

Metaphor:

Don't be the egg that chooses not to hatch.

Lately I've been trying to oversee the bigger picture of life in our day and age. We all know not to marry, we all know we don't have to end up in deadbeat jobs and we all know that the dadbod is far from acceptable.

I started thinking when I was at the beach a few days ago. I saw men who were in shape with saggy wives, I saw men who were out of shape with wives who lost the other whales, I saw some couples who seemed in balance. But mostly man who dated down and people in their 40's who had reached nothing close to their own potential.

There's certain timelines and ideals in modern day life that most people have just accepted for what they are. Having swallowed the red pill it becomes clear that you can live life any way you want, and that those timelines and ideals are just templates to get people to contribute to society and consumerism. Some well known examples of these timelines and ideals are:

The Modern Day Paradigm: Elementary > High School > College > Uni > Job > LTR > Kids/Marry > Retire

The Body Ideal: Chubby is fine, Skinny is bad, Fat is fine, Dadbod is fine. Muscular is try hard.

The Career Path: Graduate > Roll into work field job > work up over 20 years for someone's company > make 100k+ at age 40 > maybe grow diagonally > retire

We all know that these timelines and ideals are much less fulfilling and not nearly as enjoyable as what life truly has to offer. I mean just looking at the three paths I layed out above, and comparing them to what TRP generally agreed on, you can see they're much less than ideal.

To go little bit more in depth: The modern day paradigm limits your freedom by so much. A wife limits your variation of women, kids limit your ability to travel the world, getting a job for a company has you selling your time. Masculine is the best body type, try to look like Da Vinci's Michelangelo at least and watch the bitches pile up. I don't need to give you any evidence or reason on why being masculine is better.

So back to the beach. When I look at these men in their 40's sitting at the beach with a saggy wife, a dadbod and 2 kids, I imagine myself being the Hank Moody type of dude plating hot 20 year olds, acting like Elon Musk entrepreneuring and traveling the world to see what he wants to see.

I look at myself and what I could become. Gym almost every day to start looking like Adonis. Becoming a specialist in a research field I'm interested in, get my PhD, become a team leader for new inventions or start my own startup. Plating some hot girls or maybe get a LTR cause I'm too busy being awesome and I need some steady sex. There's so many ways to grow and to become more than the common man, and you know that you will enjoy life a lot more striving for that.

Now look, there are some things to be said for the life of the common man. If you have a job making 100k + benefits you're pretty well off, you're in a stable place. I you want to have children a father+mother relationship is the best for raising a child. There's more stuff like that.

But the more I look at the average man, the more I'm disgusted at all the wasted potential. The more I feel like if we live the mentality of TRP, the more I feel we can become the top 10 or maybe 1%. And that's honestly what any man should strive for. To be in the top 1% of men, not in succes, but in happiness and freedom.

In the end this turned out to be a rant more than a guideline for how to live life. And maybe that's exactly what it had to be, because if you value freedom and time it should be your own choice on what to become.

Lessons learned:

Don't become the common man. Don't give up your freedom nor stop striving for greatness because of what the modern day paradigm tells you to do. Try to excel in everything in life that matters to you. You have your whole life ahead of you, there's no reason to become chubby, in a cubicle job, locked down to you current place of residence chose, you can be much more.
