The reason for the "walking at night" thing is legitimate. This is more a commentary on the state of our modern world.

I am a creature of the night and sneak around my city's core 11pm to 6am, year-round. I workout at parks, sit and think, smoke at secret spots, hit up a friend, convenience store, etc.

The shit you see & hear can be scary when you walk. My city is rough around the edges downtown. Lots of fentanyl, meth, poor people, homeless, a little bit of gang activity, etc. I've often thought to myself that I would hate being a girl walking around here.

I'm 6'2" without shoes and people don't fuck with me. But you still have to be on high alert:

There are plenty of simps who will stare at me with this annoying "please love me, bro" vibe just being a tall guy. People ask me for smokes, the time, whatever they can
Cars rev their engine at you.
Sketchy behaviour in parking lots
Suddenly, loud voices when you walk past
People will pull over ahead of your path, sit and wait until you're near, then quickly get out at the exact moment you walk past. Just to get a look at you or whatever
Beggars all over. They can be persistent if you're too nice
People will sort of watch you from a distance, then approach you and try to mooch. There are some guys who are seeing who is an easy target to rob or scam
Random fighting, shouting, etc
