I remember when I was 13, My mother once told me this when we were talking about a news article on a divorce :

"You know raj, when a woman asks for child support, that child support is never for the child. Its for her so that she can spend it for her own amusements and wants. She does not care about the child, she cares about herself. If she actually cared about the child, she would have stayed with the father to give the child a better upbringing instead of satisfying her ego or at least she would have spent the money mindfully."

I asked "why are you saying so? I mean, maybe he was a bad guy".

Mom : "That is the trick to get sympathy, my boy. How is she going to get family support and claps for being brave if she does not make the claim that her husband was "abusive"? The husband is always abusive whenever a divorce happens, because it's easy to blame the husband instead of trying to accept her own wrongdoings. Do you really think the man is some kind of a mad guy who all of a sudden starts beating his wife out of nowhere? NO. If you push the man too much , then don't expect him to not behave rudely. Treat your man well and better than anyone else, and he will always treat you well. I dont understand why these women dont understand this simple thing."

Whatever she said is still true.

My ex wife has never kept a job in her life. I don't even know what she is doing now. But after I started making alimony and child support payments to her, she suddenly has a new tattoo, a nose and tongue piercing, and a new iPhone.

She claimed in court that she was desperate and in need.

I think child support, welfare, and even student loans should be audited.

They should give a gift card and then just spot check payments.

People abuse the system and we just end up paying taxes for this kind of bs

I really don't understand the mental gymnastics they use to justify the way the entire system is set up regarding child support.

Okay, sure, so it's a forced contract you have with the child once they exist (the possibility of which happens to be controlled by the mother to their liking.) But where exactly does it come around to the child being forced to essentially give all that money to their guardian, without any system of checks and balances? Then where does the whole maintaining the "same quality of life" thing come in? Where did they come up with the fact that fathers like spending 25% of their income to ensure their child is spoiled?

How is no one fighting back over this injustice? If women were on the other end there'd be protests. I understand they are in some rare cases, but again, it all starts with them being able to easily dodge consequences on their end if they want with an abortion.

Like jesus christ if it's really about the child fuck it, charge the crazy high rate but at least have a neutral third party like the court (well they're not really neutral) allocate the funds and use any excess funds for... I don't know, college savings? Just give it to the child when they turn 18? Also just another aside, it's so hilarious how the father could just be making a million a year and maybe saving up and not living in a mansion or blowing the money randomly and then they say they have to have the same qualify of life, so the mom goes and lives in a mansion.

Same happened to me when I was a child.
My mom used child support to buy cigarettes and rent a new car.
Me and brother didn't have enough food to eat.

When I told my father about this he was like WTF I give her money for you and your brother.

Is there a way to alter the child support system? They should have a proper system to monitor the funds and ensure that they are only used for the child.

Perhaps a specialized debit card/checking account where the funds go to and can be tracked down to every place/item purchased.

No one needs $10,000 a month for CS and no women aren’t entitled to a lifestyle. That lifestyle is a privilege that can be ended.

What is infuriating is how the woman can take the house and live in it with someone else while the guy has to pay for CS and in many cases the house too.

Either this problem gets solved or the time bomb we have ticks faster overtime. When that time bomb goes off, regret is the last thing that these system abusers should worry about.
