Virtually noone takes domestic violence against men seriously. It's either seen as a joke, or as a "he must have done something to deserve it".

Example mum works in a shop and once told me a young guy came into the shop with a black eye and a burst nose asking if they could call the police because his girlfriend assaulted him. They laughed him out of the shop.
