Man out is the right move. Man up is for idiots who eventually get divorce raped.
[–]Mnyagatownyans43 points44 points45 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I legit cannot interpret "manup" as anything other than "Do this thing you don't want to do for my benefit"
[–]BobbingForBunions10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I interpret "man up!" as...
"I have nothing of value to contribute to this conversation. All I can do is opine and emote."
[–]Lurkingnopost4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is literally what it means. You have to man up to do something you dont want or should do. No one has ever had to "man up" to get a blow job.
[–]CertainCrow10 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah this. Ex would always say be a man or man up. And sometimes I'd drop like.. wait.. if I just do what you're asking because I'm worried you'll be mad or something how is that being a man?
[–]Mnyagatownyans1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I just say no and then when they drop the "just man up" I say "I AM manning up, I'm telling you no."

Marriage isn’t the end goal, divorce is.
[–]no_gal_friend0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
with alimony and child support , of course.

"You'll be HAPPY" Are you assuming I'm unhappy right now? Why? And how will marriage bring me happiness exactly? Do you guarantee it or will I have to work for it?
"It's the right thing to do!" Regarding what? Good and bad is subjective, unless it isn't.. then explain how it's not. Explain how it's the "right" thing to do and explain why not marrying would be the "wrong" thing.
"You won't be so alone!" Assuming being alone is bad, which is a physical fact, that's not the same as being lonely, which is a state of mind. I'm surrounded with family, friends, coworkers, people outside in general.. I don't have to get married to keep them around.
"You'll be COMPLETE!" Elaborate, please.
"You won't be a failure!" As in, a failure as a human being in general? Explain how being married will make me a successful person. Explain how not marrying makes me a failure. And while you're at it, at what threshold do I begin to be a failure? Am I a failure from birth until I marry you or after I turn 18 or.. when is the silver-lining exactly?

Marriage can only work when there is trust. I guess the real reason would be to finalize and officialize the relationship, so that it is recognized by the law. Probably helps with raising kids and the like.
So it does somehow "complete", but it doesn't complete your life, it completes this particular side quest you're currently doing. The best argument for marriage would be "both sides genuinely love one another and want it", but that only happens in fiction. Love has, at most, one side.
[–]Mnyagatownyans5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Why do you have to get married if you two love one another?
[–]Melkor_II4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't. You simply can. It's pure choice. Symbolic meaning, etc.
[–]cookiesandspleen3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I really think some people are just wired differently.
I've heard people say stuff after becoming single again like "When I wake up in the morning it's just me there in my bed, I feel so empty and alone". I have never felt that sense of emptiness in my entire life. I think the going your own way thing may be more than just a perceptual change or being some form of woke. I think most people truly have a deep nagging feeling all day long within themselves that they're lonely losers if they're alone, and they're more comfortable when with someone else. Since it's so strongly felt within themselves and they see that same mentality all around them, they probably assume it's the same for you but you're just being stubborn for some reason.
The truth might be that we're not necessarily any more enlightened than the general population, it's just our give-a-shit setting is a few degrees less than everyone else.

I get what you mean, and I call that just being blue pilled.
You see everyone around you scrambling to be with someone and anyone who doesn't gets a beating, so you get it in your head to do the same because you're afraid of the beating.
Then you come across someone who doesn't give a shit and is immune to the beating, then you start to ask question and analyze the deeper picture. Suddenly, your need to be with someone behind to fade away, as you realize it was never your goal, you were just afraid of the beatings.

Nice. I thought about adding some such excellent examples, but was lazy so just went right to their last gambit: shaming.

Gotta fall on that sword. Who cares what happens to the guy. /s
This why I hate Tradcucks. Once a man gets divorced-raped they just let him twist in the wind.
Protect yourself. It is your life not theirs.

This.

I think in olden times at least there was some grudging respect given to such men, but now they're just cast off as used resources, basically invisible and not so much as a thank you for what they provided.

I love saying this to women. What’s one good reason?
Another good one is.... if I’m a single, child free man... why should I entertain a single mom?
Men just don’t understand that it’s really that simple. When you say NO! And can easily walk away... there’s not much they can do or say. Why? Because they were never prepared to offer men much anyway.
See the signs early when people behave badly and put a stop to it. Look at it like a legal precedent. If you allow it to happen on a small scale, people only push the boundaries inch by inch until they take your life.

When you say NO! And can easily walk away... there’s not much they can do or say.
They try to falsely accuse you lmao.
[–]Phantom_Spark4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No. I mean walking away before you even get to know the person... before there’s any interest. People let things slip and you often can see signs of what they’re like.
And men are already doing this. Many are going on dates and just walking out. Others are hitting and quitting. Some just won’t even entertain the idea of being with a woman and paying for anything. It’s already happening. That’s why they’re terrified. If men won’t play the game... and they throw false accusations... men just avoid them.

So I can cheat and get pregnant with another man's baby and get divorced take 50% of everything you own and force you to pay me alimony and child support for the next 18 years!
[–]Lacrimosa2k75 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lets not forget to throw in that false sexual assault accusation that will be in effect when the man's earnings go into hiring an interrogation coach for the kids he never gets to see so they can lie with the greatest of ease on the stand.

In my early red pill days, a single mom of 3 that I really liked (only to fuck it turns out) wanted to get married. I kept asking her why, what is the benefit for us... And by us I mean me.
Her response - BuT MaRrIeD MeN LiVe LoNgEr...
We broke up because I just could commit. 😅
She went on to have ANOTHER kid with some random and STILL got married to some other thirsty simp. And boy did that wall hit her hard. Bullet dodged.
Wow close call bro, congrats on escaping it!
[–]Chilael4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I've seen their response though, most of the times is "you gonna have someone to love you" or "who is gonna take care of you when you get old? That's right your children and for that you need a wife".

man OUT!
[–]jacksawyer754 points5 points6 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
2/3 of marriages end in divorce. 3/4 divorces procedures are initiated by the woman. If this was the other way around we would be slammed for “abandoning women”
Would you get in a car that had a 2/3 chance of crashing?

If you are suicidal yes

Never understood that, pay a shit ton of good money just to tick off a box in the folk registry, and even the being married is a question about why.

What are you incel or sth?? Lmaooo, who hurt you?? Why are you sexist??
And other uninspired deflections you'll hear when you bring up this topic.

Remember, when a woman says "man up", what she means is "give up and do what women tell you to".
[–]FabianStrifeTulip1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
man up = man down (not dodging the bullet)
that's why you should just man out
