I have a different outlook.

I also have an amazing mother and sisters honestly and consider myself very blessed.

I will always support my mother if I can. I may not agree with marriage and have opinions on women today, but that my choice. It doesnt need to impact my family. I can still love and support their choices and they can honor mine. My idea of the world doesnt need to be adhered to for me to participate

Although my mother does want me to marry and have kiddos hah

I would reconsider your position and attend. I know many on this forum will disagree and that’s fine but my philosophy on this is that you attend a wedding to support and show your love to the people getting married, not to give your tacit approval to the institution of marriage.

It sounds like you love your mother. Don’t put her through this kind of pain just so you can stand on some kind of ceremony. In the long run, it’s just not going to be worth it. You will engender hard feelings from many people for really no good reason.

Put on a nice suit, go to the wedding, tell your mom you love her, have a couple of drinks and leave. Trust me when I say....your life will be better for it.

I went to my brothers wedding cause he’s my brother and I love him. But holy shit, it was the biggest shit show I’ve ever seen.

There was a stripper pole on the dance floor and one of the bridesmaids (who’s a stripper) proceeded to twerk in front of children and parents the majority of the night. I decided to get drunk (I quit alcohol in may 2015) and just watch the show.

This was December 2017. Fast forward to a year later. He calls me complaining, wanting a divorce. Fast forward to know , he’s an emasculated shell of his former self, and it honestly hurts me to see it. He was one of my hero’s growing up. (One of the few male role models other than my dad. He’s the oldest, I’m the youngest. Separate by four yrs)

I haven’t seen him since his wedding and all I hear are horror stories from my parents about her convincing him to buy a huge house in Colorado. Only for her to quit her job, buy a bunch of farm animals and allow her family to move in as well. Her mother and siblings. (Oh and she already had a 6-7 Yr old daughter.) He went from a pretty confident alpha. To a muscular soyboy who relentlessly praised his wife on social media.

And yet he still asks me when I’m getting married. 🤦🏿‍♂️

I'm stunned now OP. I get it your granny is probably caught between a rock and hard place. Her priceless moron getting her feeffies hurt and you. This reminds me yet again how absolutely blessed and fortunate I was coming from a nuclear family. Now I see that includes my grandparents. I lost my grandparents all at fairly young age. My last granddad passed when I was 20. But everything I can remember is their place was heaven for me as a kid. They pumped in so much wisdom and love I cannot begin to thank them. Would I have been you I know 100% they would have taken my "side." Or at least totally respected my choice. Even disregarding daughtee's feefies. Just when I thought clown world was bad I now see it's worse. And frankly I don't have any advice for you OP. All I can say is I respect your choice completely, even given the fact I disagree with you.

Mom is the only woman that loves you unconditionally even if she fucks up many things (nobody is perfect, neither you). At least in my case. No woman will love you as much as your mom ever so I'd suggest going to her wedding. Don't put her down mate. You might regret it when she's gone forever. Don't go maybe to your acquaintances wedding but go to your moms. Don't fuck it up kid. I'd understand if she did you wrong, abandoned or neglected or abused you and nothing else. If not then don't pour your bitterness or hatred on your mom in the name of all women who are strangers to you.
